"Found a spacious beautiful home. Did find the blender at the house broke due to the shaft being rounded out and exterior rear lights need cleaned and bulb changed. Also I'm my opinion 11 would be an easier check out time. We took 2 trash cans to the street as needed."

"We stayed here for a small family reunion over Thanksgiving. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking a Thanksgiving dinner. I brought my own turkey roaster but everything else was provided. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Of course the pool was closed in November but we would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the pool and the beach, which is a short walk. Overall I would recommend this property. "

"The house was very clean and had a lot to offer in the way of amenities. It was too cold to go into the ocean at that time, but the hot tub was available, and the pool could be used too if the heater is requested. Enjoyed using the propane fire pit several times, and there is a great view of the surrounding area from the highest vantage point on the deck. This is definitely a place that I would not mind returning to."

"The property is spacious and was able to handle my family of 13 with ease. Short distance to the beach. Had everything we needed. A few minor problems but the management handled them immediately. Would definitely return to the Crabby Mermaid!"

"Positively beautiful view, excellent location, layout great. Bathrooms and Kitchen were clean and well maintained. Some suggestions: put a handrail at pool steps, vents,especially on wall in living room were filthy. Outside windows covered with bugs. Beach chairs and umbrella were all broken. For some reason hot water came out of both faucets in both masters. Minor changes would really enhance one’s stay but otherwise an enjoyable week."

"Overall this property is nice. It is an older home with charm but also with general wear and age being by the ocean. The property could use a sprucing up and the kitchen ware is older. There is a musty smell but it is not over powering and expected with the age of the home and its location. My critical feedback is on the management side of our vacation. The company only offers one complimentary toilet paper roll, garbage bag, and paper towel roll, so if you plan to stay longer be prepared to buy...

"Would definitely stay here again! It was the perfect kitchen for a larger Thanksgiving meal and as a bonus, there were two fridges. The house was very clean with great access to the beach. From the second story, you can see the water. And of course, there were lots of horses."

"This is one of the cleanest and well equipped homes I have ever rented. The description and pics are completely accurate. Beds were comfy. Kitchen laid out well. Easy to communicate with the host and very responsive. Views incredible from inside and outside. Location was awesome - literally 60 steps and you are putting your beach chair down. "We really enjoyed our stay at this beach house! Being right on the beach was great and very secluded which made for a peaceful stay. We saw wild horses everyday and some came right up to the fence around the pool. The house was very clean and felt like our home away from home! Will plan on visiting again very soon :)"

"Leslie and Cora were so pleasant to work with. Super informative and communicative. The booking process was seamless and easy. Check in could not have been any simpler. The house is in a fantastic location. It is spacious and just as described in the listing. We had a perfect time ringing in 2025 at The Caped Coral. My one minor complaint is that a lot of the dishes weren’t clean. But we’ve stayed at many houses in OBX and Topsail over multiple decades and it wasn’t the worst we’ve encountered....

"We had a group of 12 adults and we had a terrific time at the house. It was large enough that only two people had to share a room. There was also almost one bathroom per bedroom, so no one was fighting over them in the morning or night. There was a large living room with a comfy couch and big TV. There was also a pool table, which was a lot of fun. It has seen better days but was perfectly usable. There was no chalk for the cues though so we had to buy our own. The other furniture in the house...

"We had a good experience here. It was clean and the breakfast was pretty good. Anymore a lot of hotels only serve carbs and processed food, but they did have some eggs and sausage. My only complaint is the HVAC system smelled like mildew. We had a two night stay and all four of us ended up having some upper respiratory reaction to it. "
