Our stay at this cottage was the perfect peaceful escape, offering a relaxing retreat in a beautiful setting. The cottage itself is cozy and well-equipped, with everything you need in the kitchen for easy meal prep. The spacious deck was a highlight, providing ample space for lounging, dining, and playing games.
We especially loved the two large fire pits, with the one by the lake quickly becoming our favorite spot for evening gatherings. The dock on the water was generously sized, comfortably fitting all six of us whether we were lounging in chairs or relaxing on towels. However, the walk to the lake was a bit longer than we expected from the photos, so I’d recommend bringing a wagon if you plan to spend the day on the dock to avoid multiple trips back to the cottage.
While the cottage doesn’t have air conditioning, it stayed pleasantly cool, especially at night when we opened the windows and ran the fans. Although the tap water is safe to drink, it does have a noticeable sulfur odor, so bringing your own drinking water is a good idea.
One thing to note is that internet and cell service inside the cottage are nearly nonexistent, and even on the deck and dock, the signal was quite spotty. This could be a challenge if you need to work remotely.
Overall, this cottage is a wonderful place to unwind. Jeanine was a fantastic host, greeting us with a warm welcome and a tour of the cottage and grounds on our first day, making us feel right at home.
