I sent the following information to the host - King Rentals - on the second day and got zero response. I’m used to hosts trying to make a situation right. But that did not happen here.
We attempted to use the washing machine on the second night and it was a disaster. There was no setting that would allow the water to drain after the wash cycle. So, not only did my clothes not wash properly, I had to fish them out of the standing water in the washer and wring them out manually. (Water is still standing in the washer. I have no idea how to get it to empty.) When I then went to put them in the dryer, not knowing what else to do, I found 3 partially dry towels still in the dryer presumably from a prior guest.
Some additional things were quite disappointing:
1- Many, many tiny dead bugs (in the sinks, on the vanity, and on the floor) in the one bathroom on the second floor
2- One of the stovetop burners was left on from a prior guest
3- No hand towel in the bathroom on the 1st level
4- Missing one chair in the living room (we saw it in the garage with a missing cushion)
5- Dirt in the hot tub and general messiness of the rooftop deck
6- Only 1-2 hangers in all the closets
7- Area rug in the living room is stained and thread-bare. Couch is also unkempt.
I’ve never stayed in a VRBO property (in 15+ different places) that has been so poorly furnished and in disrepair. There are always games or movies, and a notebook of recommended restaurants, sites, activities, etc. as
