We really enjoyed our stay at Baby Bear - it was almost exactly what we were looking for in a quick weekend retreat. Great location only a short distance from town, yet it felt like it's 100 miles from anywhere. We definitely will look forward to returning. The only negatives to our experience were minor. First, we had no idea that our Baby Bear cottage was literally a few feet from the large Papa Bear cottage. Visitors' quality of experience will depend heavily upon the activities of the neighbors. Other than a lot of dog barking and several cars regularly coming and going and being loaded and unloaded right outside our front door, the other guests were mostly unobtrusive to our visit. We were not expecting such close neighbors. We would also have appreciated more effective window coverings, since the front room of our cottage had very little privacy, and one of the window blinds in the bedroom was broken. The other issue we had was when the WiFi range extender went down and we couldn't complete our work obligations. Normally this wouldn't have been a big deal, but with no cell service we couldn't set up our own WiFi hotspot with our phones. The guest instructions said to call the owners if WiFi went down, but without any cell service and the cottage's landline phone removed, there was no way to rectify the situation without driving into town to make calls to track down the owners on the provided numbers to notify them of the problem. They fixed it rapidly, but it still put a damper on things; the guest instructions should include directions on how to fix the WiFi outage, which turned out to be a very minor problem that we could have handled in a matter of a minute or two if only the directions had been provided in the guest instructions. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The hot tub and fountain waterfall were clean and very relaxing. They even provided coffee for us, but it was not a simple Keurig but rather a drip coffeemaker with whole beans and a grinder. That means that those who wake up early have to hold off on making any coffee for themselves until everyone else wakes up. But we planned ahead for coffee and brought our small travel Keurig. If you plan ahead and go into your stay here knowing this information, you will have a wonderful time!
