This was a perfect location as we attended a wedding which was within walking distance. It is not close to French Quarter, which was not bad for us but should be known. However, we did walk one day via the very lovely Crescent Park river walkway which is a few blocks from Big Mama’s and led to the tourist area. Other times we took ride services which were fast and convenient. The house was excellent for the four of us and could accommodate more: we had two bathrooms, kitchen facilities, a common area, and quiet separated bedrooms. It was great to park our car safely off the street for our stay. The neighborhood felt safe, easy walk to the delicious Bywater Bakery, and fun to see chickens in the street! We had a great stay at Big Mama!

the place worked well for us, we weren’t there much so we never cooked or anything. it was nice and clean and well stocked with towels and stuff like that. my only suggestion would be more comfortable seating in the living space with 6 girls we like to hang out and talk

Girls' Trip
Big momma's house was ideal❤️ Girls' trip for the weekend. Needed a little break. The house was only a few miles from the quarter. Everything we needed was supplied at the rental. Communication with Sallie was quick and easy. She was easy to talk to, like she was a family member 😊. Definitely stay there again for the next girls trip 😁.

Surprised
The property was very comfortable and clean. The decorating was a little hectic. There were inside cameras in the living room. Buuut the shower was great water super hot. Nice washer and dryer. All the locks were a little aggravating. Location fabulous. I felt like it was not far from anything we wanted to do. When we drove up there was chicken at the front gate….we are from the country so we laughed but it was funny to see random chickens running around. All in all it was a great stay. We felt safe and had zero issues.

We enjoyed our stay at big Mama's house. The house was clean and very homey. The location is excellent as we were no more that 3 miles from Bourbon St, Super Dome and downtown!

Enjoyed the stay
Came home(NOLA) to visit my mother for her birthday. Ms. Sallie was a gregarious and fantastic host. The house was exactly as described. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. Everyone was to themselves. We(My Wife and I) actually were able to enjoy the house because it rained nearly every day we were there due to active storm systems in The Gulf of Mexico. We definitely wouldn't hesitate to return to Big Mama's House! Thx again Ms. Sallie!

THIS PROPERTY WAS EXACTLY WHAT THE PICTURE SHOWED. EVERYTHING WAS EXACT. DID NOT EXPECT IT TO BE IN THE 9TH WARD . WE WAS SORT OF FRIGHTEN, BUT THE NEIGHBORS WERE NICE. WE FOUND SMALL WORMS ALL OVER THE HOUSE . THE DRIVE WAY IS TIGHT . THIS WAS GOOD FOR THE PRICE. NOT FAR FROM THE QUARTER, ABOUT A TEN MINUTE DRIVE .

Changing Neighborhood
Although we experienced no adverse interactions, we witnessed a few disturbing interactions. It is clear the neighborhood is in transition for the better, however the complete fencing and the locks were a great comfort.

Property was just as described in the listing. Lots of train activity at this location and two houses down was a warehouse where several bands played on a Sunday night till 2 am. A little noisy at times, but otherwise great!!

I Big mamas is in a quite neighborhood, the home was clean and the perfect size. I enjoyed the stay, property manager was nice and responded in a timely manner. A must stay place!

Family trip to New Orleans
Big Mama's place was a great location for getting to all the places we wanted to go. The house was clean for the most part. We did have a few issues with the surrounding homes. There was loud music and extreme cussing, which is okay for me, but when you have smaller children you don't want them to get scared and that's what happened. This would be a great place for adults who are enjoying New Orleans, but not recommended for small children.

Our family was there for a month to help get our middle daughter moved in at Xavier University. We liked everything about the place. We liked the house, the neighborhood, the chickens... It was all great.

Comfortable stay for 5.
Plenty of room. Nice kitchen to cook in. Each bedroom has a TV with plenty of stations to choose from. The shower in one of the bathrooms is amazing. Not far from Quarter which is nice. Sallie was very nice and helped if we had any questions. Parking was the only challenge. Not much room on street and was hard to maneuver around other cars to park inside gate. Besides that we were pleased with our stay.

Loved the proximity to French Quarter
The St Claire neighborhood was so cool. About a mile and half from French Quarter, it was easy to walk two blocks, grab a Blue Bike and I was at Cafe du Monde in 10 minutes. The fence and gate create a sanctuary feel, very safe... was here with my three kids (two adults and one teen) and we had a blast. Home has great character and is a superb value. Will book again.

We loved the house! It has so much character and the privacy fence made us feel safe!
When we arrived it was midnight and the neighborhood had us a little uneasy but as soon as we got into the gate we felt completely safe! The house itself is awesome with plenty of space for our 8 person group! The kids loved the radio in the shower! (I have never had kids arguing over who could get a shower first lol!) The beds were super comfortable. We loved the proximity to everything we wanted to do in New Orleans! The price is awesome! Will defintely stay here again we when come back next year:)

Fun had by all
We were in New Orleans for a guys trip celebrating my brothers birthday so we decided to go with a house instead of a hotel , it was 6 of us , the house was a perfect size for our group , house was clean , easy check in process. Sallie provided all of our essential needs , driveway was a bit snug so if you have a large SUV it might be a little tough to get in. We had a great time in New Orleans both day and night , we drove to some places and caught UBER to others. All and all the house had plenty of room for 6 men to spread out and relax during our short down times. Thanks Sallie can't wait to visit again.
