Our Christmas getaway.
We really enjoyed our visit to this charming home over Christmas. It had everything we needed, plus amazing views of Oakland and beyond. Even though it rained much of the time, it was great!

You Will Love This Home!
If I could rate this 10 stars I would! Beautiful apartment with incredible views! Dee is an amazing host. She has thought of everything to make your stay the best ever. I’ve never had such a perfect stay at a vacation rental. We didn’t have a car so we took an Uber to the Oakland Ferry Station most days. It was such a fun experience riding the Ferry To San Francisco. We also ordered Uber Eats and Walmart grocery delivery. Both were easy. We had a perfect stay! Thank you Dee for all that you did to make us feel welcome. ❤️

Maxwell Park City Views
This is a beautiful & comfortable home with wonderful views of the Oakland & SF skylines. The home is located in a very nice, quiet & walkable neighborhood with easy access to transportation & highways. Dee & Kevin are amazing hosts that maintain excellent warm open lines of communication for any questions &/or requests that may arise. Check-in was seamless with information provided well in advance of your stay. All-in-all we felt almost as comfortable as being at home. You will not be disappointed!

Amazing views (so amazing), felt so safe, clean, comfortable, easy drive to all the cool sites!
The house is perfect. She has thought of everything and made the stay very easy. King beds were very comfy and good pillows. House is so clean and felt spacious. Big bathroom and nice full sized washer/dryer with detergent. The views ranked top of our list. Views from kitchen, living room, deck, dining room and one of the bedrooms. Had several meals on back deck watching sun go down over San Francisco and the bay. Quiet neighborhood, safe area. Free street parking but plenty of open spots steps outside the front door. This stay was so restful and enjoyable. 10/10! Easy access to freeway. The Safeway store near by was perfect for groceries and essentials. Depending on time or day it was just a fun 20 minute drive over the bridge to the San Francisco piers. Alcatraz, Golden Gate Park, Palace of the fine arts, China Town and so many more cool spots. We can't wait to return and will be booking again!

We couldn’t have chosen a better spot for our Bay Area trip. Extremely clean, well maintained, and organized. Dee is a great host and the house has everything you could possibly need and more. Fabulous view, home, and host!
This is a beautiful, comfortable home, with an unbelievably fantastic view. Great beds, plenty of space, wonderful restaurants nearby, easy drive to all the wonders of the bay area. We couldn't have been happier. .... I also have to add-- we have stayed in many great vacation rentals in the US and abroad, and the host of this vrbo wins the prize for being the most thoughtful and prepared host we have ever encountered. everything you could possibly need is available, with careful instructions and labels to make you feel right at home. we will be back!! :)

Second stay as good as the first!
This was our second stay, and it was every bit as great as our first stay which I reviewed previously. Definitely five stars! In fact, I've started telling friends that it is my 'home away from home' and 'our place' when we visit Oakland. Indeed, we've already got our third visit booked. This time, it was middle of summer when we visited, and the bay area was just coming out of a big heat wave. We really, really appreciated the air conditioning the first day or two until the bay area fog came back. The views were as great as ever, and our stay was very comfortable. Until next time, thanks!

The listing is great. The place is even better.
We were excited to stay here because of the listing and the pictures. As great as they are, they don't do the place justice. The hosts are wonderful. Laid back, and communicative and attentive - and dare I say caring. Every room is very thoughtfully appointed. The decor was clean and thoughtful and understatedly stylish. Oakland can be hit or miss, but the location here is close to grocery stores and is pretty walkable (save for the hills). It is a very convenient location - easy to get to anywhere from the valley, to Mirin, to Walnut Creek, to Berkeley or even the city. The views are absolutely stunning. We had a magical time grilling our dinner every night and enjoying a glass of wine on the balcony while watching the sunset over the bay and San Francisco. We can't wait to go back to the Bay Area, and when we do, we will absolutely stay here.

Great family getaway
Maxwell Place was the perfect location for our family to explore the surrounding Oakland-San Francisco area. The house is roomy, well appointed and welcoming. The beds were a dream to sleep on. The retro kitchen was so cute and functional. The stove and grill were the best! We loved how everything is labeled. The best part were all the windows and stunning deck. It has panoramic views overlooking a beautiful garden and city skyline in the distance. Sunsets were gorgeous! We loved how easy it was to get to the grocery stores, restaurants and the freeway. Dee did an excellent job being helpful but not intrusive. Pre-trip and check-out communication was easy. Street parking was close. We loved having a home base as we explored the region and made lifelong memories. Maxwell place was the perfect spot for our family. Thank you Dee!

Wowed In Oakland
This property is awesome! It is exactly as it was represented to be. My friend and I absolutely loved it! The place was clean and fully stocked with everything. All we had to do was buy food to cook and drinks that we wanted. It definitely felt like home away from home. So much so, we actually didnt go out and do some of our planned activities because we were so content at the house. Dee is a wonderful host and was super quick to respond to questions. Turned out that we needed to extend for a day and Dee was quickly able to shift some things and accommodate us. It was overall just wonderful and I will stay there again when I'm in the area. I highly recommend this lovely home. If you need a safe, quiet, serene place to stay, THIS IS IT!!!

We will be back, soon!
We had a wonderful stay...the views really are fantastic, the neighborhood is quiet, parking right in front of the cottage or right across the street was never an issue, and the entire property is quite comfortable. There is a perfect small sitting area in the back bedroom for reading or getting work done. The gas fireplace was a very nice touch our first night, when the weather was rainy; we were blessed with lovely weather the rest of our stay and spent a lot of time out on the back deck. The kitchen was quite well stocked. I do wish there was a coffee grinder, but it had just about everything else one would want (other than a dishwasher but that is pointed out in the listing and wasn't a big deal at all), including sharp knives, plenty of nice glassware and dishes, and a supply of basic spices. There were also plenty of towels and linens, laundry soap, foil, and other basic household supplies. Lots of storage areas and big closets. You'd have to walk up and down some rather steep streets to get to the closest shops and restaurants but we did order delivery once and that was a breeze. Besides, the fact that the place is at the top of a hill is what makes the views so great. Truly panoramic. Highly recommended. Indeed, we liked this vacation rental so much that we booked our next stay before we left, and next time we will stay longer. Thank you to our terrific and responsive hosts for a great time!

No disappointment
4 of us stayed for 4 nights. Everyone loved the house, everything was well organized and thought out. Dee has great communication over everything. She wants you to enjoy your stay to the fullest. The view of both San Francisco and Oakland are amazing. Parking was a non issue. If you want to get to San Francisco its a easy ride on the Bart and easier than trying to find parking in the city. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Peaceful Retreat

Wonderful view, clean place, with everything thing you will need to have a stay with all the comforts of home. Quiet neighborhood. Perfect working gas stove with everything needed to make meals in the kitchen. Nice touches like the muffins upon arrival as well as OJ in the refrigerator. A great place to stay. Only 20 minutes to San Fran.
