Wonderful !
Exceeded expectations. We wanted to stay on this side of the island to be farther from the Kona side and tourists. Location was fantasti. Ocean viewable from the house and lanai. Darker in area so star werw spectator. Kitchen and house well stocked with most basics needed. No AC but ceiling fans throughout and windows provide nice breezes Would definitely recommend and stay again! Communication was excellent

The property is near the ocean. Great view from the lānai. At night the house was warm and the flooring was slippery and damp. The ceiling fans were a nice option to try and cool the house down. The house was clean and there was plenty of space. Check-in and out was easy.

The neighbors are the problem
This property is absolutely beautiful. The location is far from most things, but by a beautiful state park. Everything about the property itself was great. However, the neighbors on both sides make it very clear that they would rather not have a VRBO nextdoor to them. The ones closest to the ocean called the property management company and made a false claim that some of the people in our party were smoking on the lanai. This was obviously not true and could have been fact checked with the cameras that are facing the lanai. There are several cameras on this property. Instead, we received an email informing us it was illegal and we needed to stop. The neighbor on the side farthest from the ocean started verbally harassing us on the day we checked in. He could be heard yelling "Shut the f*** up and get back in your f***ing rental" whenever we were outside, regardless of the time of day. Several people in my group are retired military and have hearing loss as a result so they do speak at a slightly higher volume than someone with perfect hearing. It definitely put a damper on our trip to feel like we couldn't go outside unless we were leaving.

Beautiful home
We enjoyed our stay here. The house is very clean and very well stocked. The beds we very comfortable. The kitchen is beautiful and perfect for preparing meals. We spent every morning and evening on the lanai. At night we loved the sounds of the ocean and the chirp of the little frogs. I do recommend to arrive before dark. It is difficult to find at night when you are not familiar with the area. It is dark. There is no air conditioner, but once you get in and open the doors and turn on the fans, the home cools down quickly. We enjoyed our stay.

Great out of tourist area location
House is exactly as advertised. Check in process was easy. We enjoyed the book of information about the area of the house and things to do. Lanai is the place to be as the main houses very hot and stuffy during the time we stayed there. We open the windows at night, and used all the fans. Bring earplugs if you Can’t sleep with nature noises lol. Neighborhood is definitely far away from the touristy area so be prepared to drive when you want to do something. That was our plan all along so we had no issues.

Sunrise in hawaii
We had a wonderful stay at Moana Imaku. Everything was as advertised but the furniture on the lanai is getting a bit weathered. That being said we did spend most of our time out on that lanai staring at the ocean and enjoying the sounds of the neighborhood. I was up early every morning to see a beautiful sunrise over the ocean. The location was great, from there we drove around the island. The kitchen is extremely well set up and made cooking from home easy. Would definitely go again.

House
The house was awesome. We had a wonderful time and it was a large house for the grandkids to play. The view on the lanai was incredible. The weather was hit and miss but overall great.

Beautiful, better than we expected!
When we arrived it was pitch dark. The house was very nice, clean and better than what we expected. We could hear the ocean waves but could not see anything. The next morning, we were awestruck with the beautiful view of the ocean virtually right outside our door. You can not imagine how us desert rats from Arizona felt!! It’s been an amazing experience and we wish we had MORE TIME! Hopefully we will be able to come back!

A bit remote but great
Services are not close if you need them, stores etc... local TV service at this house is limited if you need that, must have a car if you choose this location. For us it was perfect, didn't need the fancy things some folks need, wife and I had a great experience, and talk story with the neighbors,I could live there, we'll be back.

Beautiful property
The location is perfect if you want a quiet, peaceful vacation. Shopping and restaurants are a 15 minute drive. The Lanai was a gem!!! I appreciated all of the amenities for handicapped visitor, with easy access to the house (ramp) and the shower.

Slice of paradise
We stayed in Moana Imaku for a week and loved it. The house is really nice, the neighborhood is safe and quite and the ocean is just a two minute walk. We were there in July so we were concerned about not having AC. However, there are ceiling fans in all the rooms and the location cooled down enough that we had no problems sleeping. We did make it a point to be out of the house in the afternoons as it was quite warm.

Paradise in hawaii
A most perfect stay at this beautiful house in Hawaii. We had a party of 5 and fit very well in this house. We loved the location, being so close to the ocean and felt very welcomed by the neighbors. We felt like we lived on the lanai, it’s perfect! Breakfasts and dinners were spent out there most nights shared with lots of laughter and stories. The coqui frogs put us to sleep every night, we miss them already! They had lots of additional items we could use for the beach that we loved and all the amenities were great. Would absolutely book this place again and hope to return in the future!

Real Hawaii experience
Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Moana Imaku. The house is located on the edge of a real neighborhood. Quiet and across the street from a neighborhood park. The complete opposite of a typical Hawaii condo development. The lanai is probably where we spent the most time, eating and relaxing. Restaurants and a grocery store are probably a 20-minute drive away. The slightly funky, small town of Pahoa is also close. The property manager was great. really responsive and friendly.

Perfect Family Home
This was a perfect spot for our 4 generations of family ! My 80 yr old father, 30 yr old daughter and kids (12,8 and 6) all felt safe, comfortable and had plenty of room for all of us to enjoy. Loved walking across the road to the park ~ the rental had great beach chairs in all sizes for us to carry across the road where we would sit on the grass and enjoy the amazing ocean view!!

Brought brother in law & sister in law back to where they were married 43 years ago and to their first house at the Naval Base They thought they’re never get to come back ❤️ they were married at the church on the base camp it’s still there but decommissioned The house was amazing and worked out great thank you

Great House with a Beautiful View
We stayed here for six nights in December 2022 and it was a great house. The location is very quiet and peaceful, and the water view (not beach but beautiful volcanic rocks) is a short block away. You can see the ocean from the lanai. The house was very well outfitted, with plenty of cooking supplies and utensils. They had a nice stock of shampoos, body wash, etc as well. While it was a lot of driving to get to everything we wanted to see, that's just the nature of the Big Island. We would definitely stay here again. Oh, and Henrietta left us a couple nice gifts on our final morning!

Awesome Lanai with beautiful ocean views
The residence is in excellent condition, stocked with all the goods needed to cook for your family including pots, pans, serving bowls, kitchen utensils, spices, cooking oil and a filtered water container in the fridge. They also have ice chest, beach chairs, towels, bug spray, sunscreen, games and cable tv. Just about everything you could need for staying I. Or exploring the island. Location is great, just takes about 45 minutes to get to Hilo for beaches and shopping centers. My favorite feature of the property was the lanai, seeing and hearing the ocean right in front of us in a large gathering spot while playing cards with the family over great conversations made for the perfect ending to each day. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!
