Great time in Paradise
First visit to the UP in winter. A lot of snow and cold weather but the home was warm and inviting. I would love to stay at this house again. Great communication with the owner and very nice place to stay.

Great View
On the positive side, the home’s updates and décor are lovely, the views phenomenal, the deck and bonfire set up well done, and the closets had lots of hangers! However, despite the positive VRBO reviews, the overall cleanliness was disappointing. The closets held a good amount of clothing, something we’ve never experienced with other rentals. The refrigerator’s ice maker wasn’t working. When we texted the owner, we were told we’d have to make the ice ourselves as the maker wasn’t hooked up. (The ice maker was immediately deleted from the VRBO’s description). While cute to look at, the tiny metal chairs at the dining table were extremely uncomfortable to use for any length of time. The only drawers in any of the bedrooms were in two bedside tables in the larger upstairs bedroom. Both were filled with crumpled pajamas. That said, the home’s positive points can’t be denied. We had a great time during our stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Dale’s place. The location was amazing. The house was clean and well equipped. Definitely recommend it for someone who wants a peaceful place to stay right on the shore of Lake Superior.

Great place to stay
Dale was great! Home was very accommodating for our family trip. Conveniently located to many sites for day trips exploring the upper peninsula. Beautiful sunrises in the morning and the highlight for me was watching a lake otter play in the water.

Paradise found!
Our stay in Paradise was absolutely wonderful for four people who just wanted to relax and get away from it all! The house was cozy and inviting with many comfortable spaces to sit with a book or enjoy the lovely view of the lake. The kitchen was great for fixing meals when we weren't taking advantage of the restaurants in town. As for sleeping, the beds were, by far, the most comfortable that any of us had ever slept in, including our own at home! We were not really interested in traveling too far afield, but Tahquamenon Falls State Park and the lighthouse at Whitefish Point were each about 10 minutes away and were both a splendid short getaway. Don't miss collecting some Yooper rocks on the beach at the Point! We did not have any issues while were there, and Dale was quick to respond to any questions we had before our stay. It was a very stress-free and rejuvenating week, truly our own piece of Paradise!

Relaxing waterfront stay
We enjoyed sitting by the water listening to the waves and the breeze and bonfires at night. Saw incredible sunrises and the moon had many different views. Enjoyed stargazing with our grandson. Visited Tahquamenon Falls, the summer sled dog facility, Soo Locks and Brimley. The only thing that was bothersome was having to live out of a suitcase as there was only closets to hang clothes. Would definitely stay again!

Great Location and Peaceful Setting
We really enjoyed our stay. Very spacious home, clean and comfortable. Loved the back covered deck and views of Whitefish Bay. The firepit area was great as we enjoyed sitting by the fire overlooking the bay. The location was perfect for seeing the various sites. Dale was a great host and answered any questions we had. Great stay.

Beautiful house and view!
We truly enjoyed our visit to the U.P. Owners were easy to get in touch with and gave us tips and recommendations for getting around Paradise. House was immaculate and well stocked. The view out back is amazing and you can even see it from the living area and bedroom upstairs. You do need to be early risers for the two bedrooms upstairs since there are skylights. Sunrise is a must see over the water! Everything we wanted to see/visit was about an hour away which was nice. The farthest stop was the Pictured Rocks but well worth the extra time. Highly recommend!

Fantastic Home!
Home was very clean and has lots of amenities. Newer appliances and grill made eating in easy. The location is great! The view does not disappoint. The sunrises are amazing. We loved spending time on the back porch and next to the fire pit. We watched the lake for hours! The home is close to town so you can grab a meal or extra supplies. Our teenagers didn’t want to leave! If that doesn’t speak for its excellence I don’t know what will. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home.

Paradise...In Paradise!!!
Between the view and the location, it was the perfect spot to stay at for 6 days. All the most common destination to visit in the UP are very close to enjoy and make day trips all week long. Dale was very attentive to answering the questions I had, prior to making the trip. The house had all the accommodations needed to make the 6 days stay easy. The overall living space in the house, the outdoor deck and firepit available to hang out, made no one feel crowded. You won't be disappointed to stay here!!

Oh the view
We had a very relaxing time in Paradise. The sunrises were just gorgeous! We enjoyed tracking the ships and watching them off in the distance passing by. Dale was very responsive with any questions we had before and during our stay. Most of the local businesses were closed so we didn't do much exploring in town. We did go to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, which is a must see!

Long Weekend Getaway
We had a really nice stay here. The view is amazing, the house was very clean and beautiful. The main bedroom upstairs is really nice. Great view from the seating area for sunrises, and also star gazing at night. Dale was a great host. He responded very quickly when we had questions. Would definitely recommend the Gitche Gummee Lodge! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your amazing house.

Very Scenic with Smoky Smell Inside House
Loved the views of Lake Superior throughout the house! We spent much of our time, while at the house, enjoying the view of the water. Nice place to relax and get away from stresses of everyday life. The falls at Tahquamenon Falls State Park are definitely worth a visit. They are very scenic and a short drive from the house For those of you considering staying here in the future, note that the nearest grocery store is approximately 30 - 45 minutes away. The town of Paradise is very small. It does have several restaurants if you decide to stay in for the day relaxing. Two major concerns about the house. One is the smoke smell residual that remained inside the entire time during our stay. It's evident that the previous renter started a fire in the fireplace during their stay. Unfortunately, the residual smell never left. It bothered both my wife and I during our stay. Fortunately, we were able to open up the house some while we were there. The other concern involved when we first arrived at the house. All downstairs windows, along with the backdoor, were open. I believe this was due to the fact they the housekeeper was trying to air out the house. The backdoor was very difficult to lock. The owner did inform me that this issue will be addressed this Fall. The house was not as clean as we have experienced elsewhere. Here again, the owner did state that they just switched housekeeping services.

Perfect spot
Great place for our family of 5. Beautiful views and had everything we needed. Very convenient, close to all our activities. Can not say enough about Dale who went above and beyond when our son left his wallet behind. Would definitely stay here again.
