Beautiful, quaint and cozy
The cabin had all the comforts of home. Coffee on the porch overlooking the river was a wonderful start to the day and took full advantage of the outdoor grill. We enjoyed our days at the bluegrass festival and it’s a short drive to Blackwater Falls. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Great Getaway
Well maintained home and fully equipped with everything you need. Quiet area. Very clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend. Not much to do in Parsons itself but it is close to many other areas.

Awesome place to stay!
Fantastic location. Great view of the river. Very peaceful and yet handy to everything in town. We brought our side by side and enjoyed riding in town and on the never ending back roads. Love the small town of Parsons. Wonderful place to stay. Very clean and comfortable. Warren was a great host. Answered all our questions. Can't wait to visit again!

Cute Cabin!
Cozy little cabin! When I say this place had anything and everything you’d need on a trip I mean it. I have never stayed at a place that was so fully stocked with every little item you could have needed or forgotten to pack. I rated the cleanliness at a 4 only because of the hellgrammite bugs coming in and they gave me the creeps. We also had 4 adults and one child so it would have been nice to have a half bath upstairs for toileting purposes but other than that we loved it!

Great stay
The stay was awesome! The cabin is just as pictured. Lots of nice hospitality touches. The j1772 car charger was great, it allowed me to make a multi-state trip and feel confident for day trips in my EV. Very comfortable stay! Will likely go back.

Excellent property and amazing host!
My 9 year old son and I had rented this home for a father and son adventure trip. Our host was so accommodating and helpful. The home was in amazing condition and had all modern, smart home amenities. The home was exceptionally clean and there was a washer/dryer, toiletries, fire pit and board games, which was a great activity with my son. The home was on a beautiful river which we were able to enjoy and do some star watching. The cabin was close to surrounding areas of interest and the town was pure Americana. We had an absolutely wonderful time and the home was a huge part of that!

I named my review “dark” because the region lost electric for five hours. Warren was nice to bring us candles, but forgot matches, etc so thankfully the only restaurant/business in town with a generac had a waitress who gave us her lighter!! We loved the cabin. But it was a cold january so we didnt get to sit on the porch and listen to the roaring river out front. Would stay again. But will be more prepared with our own lighter, no matter where we stay

Parson's Riverside Retreat
Loved this property! We have stayed in many STR's and this is one of the best. Very clean, great amenities and the porch and river put it over the top. Warren was extremely helpful and very prompt to answer any questions we had. Would definitely stay again!

This cabin will not disappoint
We thoroughly enjoyed Parsons Riverside Retreat. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed and more. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching/listening to the sounds of the river. My husband did a bit of fishing and caught 7 small bass during our stay. No keepers though he did enjoy it. We shopped at the local Shop & Save Express for a few groceries for our stay. We grilled on the charcoal grill but enjoyed a breakfast and a dinner at B & J’s Family Diner. The food was fantastic both times. It’s an easy walk and we recommend this to any other visitors. A day spent at Blackwater Falls State Park was the highlight of our trip. We ventured down the 214 steps to see the Falls, ate a picnic lunch at Pendleton Lake and started the trek to Lindy Point. However, we got rained out and never made it to the overlook. We drove by the small waterfall between Parsons and Hambleton and saw the swinging bridge in Hendricks. Both are very short drives from the cabin. We had lunch in Elkins at the Steer Steakhouse, visited the Elkins Depot Visitors Center and shopped a bit at the Delmonte Market. It’s a cute gift shop. Fun fact, Kingsford Charcoal is manufactured here as well as it is the home of the States Largest Known Butternut Tree. This was a great trip for scenic views and enjoying the river. We loved the cabin. Thanks to our hosts. We are glad we found Parsons Riverside Retreat.

Clean with everything you need.
Such a beautiful spot right by the river. The house was spotless clean. It had everything and more that we needed for our short weekend to attend a reunion. The two grandchildren loved the beautiful river. I will definitely be back next year for our yearly reunion. The only suggestion I would have would be to build some sort of steps with the natural rock to the river. The steep bank gave my 60 plus knees a workout.

Perfect Getaway
Such an excellent property- perfect for a much needed little get away! Easy access to bike trail- short distance to Blackwater Falls for hiking! Tranquil setting- peaceful and relaxing! And the accommodations- absolutely fantastic - with Top-notch amenities that made us feel at home! We could not have found anything more perfect - just what we needed! Highly recommend! Great Little Cabin
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The property is in Parsons, so you can walk or bike to the store, trails, etc. The property is well stocked and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. We plan to schedule a future trip and will rent the cabin again.

A little bit of heaven!
We absolutely fell in love with the river cabin! The sounds of the river was the peace and relaxation we both were looking for. The cabin smelled so good, everything was so clean and the beds were comfy! I am so grateful for finding this little piece of heaven to spend a few nights for my boyfriend's birthday. He was surprised and had no idea but now it is all he talks about. One day, we hope to return!! Thank you so much for allowing us to spend a little bit of time in your perfect cabin on the river!!
