We had a wonderful summer stay at Bangeston Barn. It was the perfect downshift after five nights in London during our kids' first trip to the UK. The beautiful scenery made us feel right at home coming from Seattle, WA, USA. As a fellow DIY-er, I so admire Paul's excellent handiwork in making the barn a truly special vacation rental. We were lucky enough to bump into Paul and his family and I'm sure we could have compared notes and visited all day had time allowed. I joked that the only negative part of our trip is that now we have to buy a woodfire pizza oven when we get home because we enjoyed using Paul's pizza oven so much. The location is splendid--we did quick convenient trips to Freshwater West Beach (visiting the "grave" of Dobby the Elf), the Green Bridge of Wales, St. Govain's Chapel, Stackpole/Barafundle Bay, Pembroke Castle, and West Angle Beach (for multiple tea stops at Wavecrest). My morning run each morning was north through beautiful Bangeston Wood up and out to the Angle Lifeboat Station. And we stopped next door at the produce stand from the Angle Walled Garden for new potatoes and flowers. All aspects of the residence itself are creatively designed and executed. I can only imagine how cozy and wonderful the barn would feel for a winter visit--I noted many entries in the guestbook describing great Christmas stays. We would love to return in the fullness of time. Thank you, Paul!
