What a gem!
We had a wonderful time here! It was so nice to return from day trips to a quiet comfortable Cornish Cottage. Our hosts, Mark and Margaret, have put their hearts into every aspect of the property and could not have been more welcoming. I would not hesitate to return here or give it our fullest recommendation.

Perfect Cornwall Location
Smithy’s Stable is a lovely little cottage halfway between Penzance and St Ives, so the perfect spot for exploring West Cornwall. Mark and Margaret are wonderful hosts and provided numerous adventure ideas. You will need a car — and need to believe that the car is not as wide as you think!

Cosy, clean, well-equipped and very welcoming. ☺️
A lovely, cosy (converted stable, I think?🤔). So welcoming and friendly. Nicely decorated, lovely log-burner and very comfy bed, with great shower. Owners left me a chocolate Easter bunny, a welcome card and primroses. Thank you 🙏 for a lovely, comfy stay. Make sure you get good directions, as down some Cornish country lanes (will need a car), but only 7-min drive to St Ives, and similar to Penzance, so great location. Owners very helpful in all respects, highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Cozy cottage
We enjoyed this cozy cottage with a lovely garden and close footpaths. The hosts were very friendly and easy to communicate with. The cottage had everything we needed. A bit tight around the bed but a great night sleep!

Charming, characterful property
We had a lovely stay (1 week) over the new year. Great location, well equipped, nicely presented, and very amenable hosts. Would happily return. Make sure you read the property guide, as it has some great tips on places to go and things to see.

Lovely and Cosy
We spent 5 nights over the Christmas break at Smithy's Stables whilst visiting family who live locally. Communication with the owner before hand was great, Mark's directions where detailed and lead us straight to the property, although we did get lost the following day in the dark. The place was cosy and warm with the wood burner and bathroom radiator. The accommodation is well equipped clean. There is a lot of attention to detail in the decor. The kitchen area contained everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable, we slept extremely well. The little welcome gift was a nice touch and much appreciated. Mark was friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. We did a nice walk from the cottage when the rain stopped. I'm sure we will stay again in the future.

Een mooi ingericht en knusse 'Stable' in een prachtig begroeide tuin. De eigenaar was heel vriendelijk en we hadden alle privacy en rust om van ons verblijf te genieten!

Smithy’s Stable
Fabulous stay at Smithy’s stable. Ideally located to explore Cornwall.Very peaceful retreat. Hosts greeted us with a creamed tea which was much appreciated and some lovely home grown tomatoes. Would highly recommend. Smithy’s stable is so quaint and set in lovely gardens. Would definitely like to come back again one day.

Eine absolute Perle
Wir hatten vier wunderbare Tage im Juli 2023. Das kleine Cottage ist wunderschön und mit viel Liebe zum Detail ausgestattet. Alles ist hochwertig und geschmackvoll. Die Küche ist ideal um sich kleinere Speisen zuzubereiten und mit allem eingerichtet, was man braucht. Der Garten ist herrlich und naturnah. Die Gastgeber haben uns den Aufenthalt mit frischen Bohnen aus dem Garten und selbstgemachtem Cream Tea versüsst.

An absolute gem of a holiday home, owners were so welcoming with lovely home made cream tea on arrival, set In amazing grounds with your own little private cottage garden, great to sit and chill with a glass of wine and a book. Easy drive to St Ives and other lovely areas and some great pubs nearby for a lovely evening meal

peaceful and friendly
We had an extraordinary weeks long stay. The jewel of a stone cottage in west Cornwall was perfect in every way: quaint, cozy, clean, self contained. We discovered some local tracks to explore through the moors and cow pastures to a local pub. We had a car for 3 days to explore the rest of the peninsula. And when we needed a lift somewhere, our host Mark was right there. It is a distance(4-5 miles) to either St. Ives or Penzance but great place to explore.

Peaceful Cornish haven
Beautifully presented cottage in a peaceful, rural setting. Perfectly located to travel to nearby St. Ives, Penzance, Mousehill, Porthleven, etc. Extremely comfortable bed, woke up refreshed every morning 😃. Lovely warm welcome by the hosts, along with Rosie the dog and gorgeous fluffy cats 😊. And thank you for the delicious cream tea on arrival!

Cornwall ist eine Reise wert...
Der Empfang durch unsere Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und herzlich. Wir wurden mit Kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten wie Gemüse und Blumen verwöhnt. Sie gaben uns Hilfreiche Tips für unsere Exkursionen in Cornwall und hatten immer Zeit für einen Smalltalk. Das Cottage ist sehr gemütlich und Zweckmäßig eingerichtet und befindet sich abseits und sehr ruhig gelegen, ist aber auch wirklich sehr klein. Wir hatten in unserem Urlaub sehr viel Glück mit dem Wetter und konnten daher lange in dem kleinen Garten zu sitzen und zu grillen. Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit und haben unseren Urlaub sehr genossen. Coup de cœur !
Coup de cœur pour cette petite grange aménagée dans un jardin magnifique entretenu de main de maître par la propriétaire. Nous avons adoré cet endroit, le petit jardin privé devant la maison, le calme , la maison elle même avec beaucoup de charme et la gentillesse des propriétaires. Ils habitent dans une maison à côté et sont ravis de donner des conseils, tout en étant très discrets. Il y a également plein de renseignements utiles dans différents documents, livres et cartes dans la maison. L’emplacement est idéal entre st ives et Penzance , tout en étant un peu à l’écart de l’agitation relative de la zone, à la campagne , au calme et dans la verdure. On ne peut que vous engager à y aller ! Nous , on espère y retourner !

Lovely Cottage
The property was very pretty & attractive, it was located in a beautiful garden which was surrounded by wild woodland, with a babbling brook close by. The owners were very friendly & helpful & made our stay very enjoyable indeed, we would thoroughly recommend it ! !
