The villa was lovely, equipped well for cooking and quintessentially Tuscan. The host was super friendly, accessible,quickly replied to questions, and provided very helpful sightseeing tips for places to see. The pool was very welcome after a day of sightseeing. Parking was safe but very tight due to narrow drive and limited spaces. The location was very remote and the bumpy road up is not paved the entire way, has some switchbacks and one way spots, so you need an appropriate vehicle. No access to restaurants without a drive. Washing machine was in a basement under the villa with access to outside clothes line. The one hairdryer in the house did not work, except in the kitchen due to plug issues. The villa is tranquil but very rural. Loved the daily visit of the owners dog Nepo who adopted us. We had a good time during our week there.

Absolut traumhaft. Sehr entspannt, herrliche Lage, wundervolles Haus, tolle Umgebung, Alleinlage am Berg. Schöner Pool, gute Ausflugsmöglichkeiten. Alles überraschend grün und bergig. This stay was idyllic and everything that was promised. Privacy, serenity and beautiful surroundings. Loads to do in the area and off the beaten track enough to have a sanctuary from tourism. Susan was the hostess with the mostess. Always there for suggestions, but never intruding. Her family are quintessential Italian and we loved hearing her grandchildren calling each other across the garden, hearing the neigh of the horses and next doors donkey in the distance. If you like some solitude with your surroundings this is the place for you. We will be back.

Wundervoll!

It was a wonderful holiday, thank you very much!Both the sea and the numerous tourist hotspots are easy to reach by car, but the house itself is located in the quiet hinterland.The landlady is a soul of a person, you always felt welcome and in good hands.And finally: the property brings back the atmosphere of all those Hollywood films which, if we're honest, also draw us to Tuscany.So we would love to come back!Es war ein wundervoller Urlaub, vielen Dank!Sowohl das Meer als auch die zahlreichen touristischen Hotspots sind mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen, das Haus liegt aber selbst im ruhigen Hinterland.Die Vermieterin ist eine Seele von Mensch, man fühlte sich immer willkommen und gut aufgehoben.Und schließlich: das Anwesen bringt die Stimmung all der ganzen Hollywoodfilme wieder nah, welche uns, wenn wir ehrlich sind, auch in die Toskana ziehen.Also, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Week long stay at Podere Consani

We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at Podere Consani despite the weather not always being cooperative during our stay. The location was very quiet and had beautiful views. It was only a 12 to15 min. drive to the centre of Lucca. Susan was prompt at communication and was attentive to any needs we had on our visit. We enjoyed being able to see the olives being harvested. Vacances en terre et mer

Magnifique lieu de villégiature dans une magnifique nature. Ce lieu est magique, on s'y sent tout de suite très bien. Nous avons savouré chaque instant dans la maison La Capanna, entourée d'un magnifique jardin et d'une grande piscine, juste génial! La maison est très bien équipée et propre. Susan est d'une grande générosité, et nous avons pu profiter des ses bons conseils pour visiter des lieux typiques de la région. Le bord de mer n'est pas si loin, et il faut compter environ 20 minutes en voiture pour se rendre à Lucca. Le domaine est splendide, calme et il y fait bon vivre. Nous recommandons fortement ce lieu pour passer des moments de détentes et apprécier la dolce vita en toute simplicité.

Romantisches kleines toskanisches Steinhaus

Sehr schöne Wohnung, tolle Gastgeber

Das Apartmenthaus ist ein wundervoll restauriertes Anwesen. Die Gastgeber sind nett, umsorgt,herzlich und angenehm. Die umgebende Anlage mit Olivenbäumen und Pferdekoppel sowei Reitställen ist schön und spannend zugleich.Der Pool war sauber und sehr schön dimensioniert.

A fantastic week at a great location, perfect for exploring the area around Lucca and super easy to get to from Pisa or Florence airports. We loved the house and pool and Susan and Lelio were such brilliant hosts, full of useful info on where to go, what to see and where to eat……pretty much all you need!! Highly recommended!!

Our stay was magical. I hate to overload a review with superlatives but it could be impossible not to. Susan was a spectacular host, sharing excellent recommendations for touring, dining, or just relaxing. The location was exactly what we had hoped. Isolated but short drives to everywhere. We really loved our visit. Susan is a super hostess and was very helpful in making our visit so much fun. She set up cooking lessons and a pasta dinner for us at the property. She gave us good advice for trips, and even gave us good parking advice. And so much more.

La Docé di Niente - the sweetness of doing nothing...

Our stay at Podere Consani was ideal. The home is well appointed and we cooked many meals and wanted for not. We were invited to the fresh herbs from the garden and enjoyed the home grown olive oil provided in a lovely welcome basket. Our host was absolutely incredible and available for any inquiries. Also, she had provided some provisions that we did not anticipate we would be needing (extra toilet paper, and laundry detergent). The property is clean and comfortable with plenty of room. We were able to have space and time alone as well as gathering for meals, coffee and wine. Very comfortable for 3-4 people. The drive up to the property is scenic and tranquil. It was a little tricky at first but then we sorted out the gps and it became super simple. The short trip down the hill to the market, or a little further into the lovely town of Lucca makes this location perfect to get away and enjoy simplicity or venture not too far out to experience the magic of the antiquity of Italy. We will come back again. We are so grateful for Susan, her family and, of course, the wonderful animals that greeted us upon arrival and every morning for coffee.

Lovely Tuscan Home in Hills

Had memorable week going to wineries, having cooking lesson (set up by our host Susan), going to a rare bookshop (set up by our cooking lesson instructor) and loving the scenery. What a place to relax, with lime growing outside your door and basil to put into your tuscan pasta sauce in the same pots. Close to Lucca and very comfortable place to stay!

Podere Consani

Located north of the historic, scenic, walled city of Lucca, this well appointed holiday cottage was our home for a week. With our rental car, we visited the Cinque Terre, villages along the coast, and the villas/palazzos north-east of Lucca. Its central location made it very easy to enjoy these cultural day trips, after a swim in the morning. We made great use of the pool, often twice a day or even more. The first week of October was still very warm and pleasant. The cottage had everything to cook, BBQ, be indoors or outdoors. It is spacious, has two double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. We did a load of laundry following our first holiday week. Susan was welcoming, a source of local knowledge, resourceful and happy to assist with all of our queries. The two other buildings are near, yet we felt secluded underneath the porch and on sun beds shielded by hedges and shrubs. The air around the cottage is heavy with the scent of flowers and herbs that grow in the well tended garden. We had a wonderful week and recommend this holiday property wholeheartedly.

Tuscan Adventure

Our visit to Podere Consani was all that we had hoped for. Just taking the winding road up to the property will put you in a different world. Surrounded by grape vines and olive trees made you realize you are now in Tuscany. Our cottage offered everything we needed to relax and experience a peaceful retreat. The beautiful pool was just out our back door to give us another way to unwind. The location also provided a very convenient homebase to wander in any direction to investigate Lucca and the surrounding areas. Our hosts, Susan and Lelio were delightful. They were always available and had wonderful suggestions on places to visit and fabulous restaurants to discover the local cuisine. Do not hesitate to take a trip to this Tuscan retreat. Ciao!

Urlaub mitten in der Natur

Ein sehr schöner Ort, der sich seine Ursprünglichkeit bewahrt hat. Die Gastgeberin Susan und ihre Familie sind immer zur Stelle mit Tipps rund um den Aufenthalt und legen viel Wert darauf dass sich die Gäste wohl fühlen. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub, von schönen Tagen am Meer (Fahrzeit ca. 40 Min.), Kultur in Florenz und dem nicht weniger schönen Lucca und auch erholsamen Tagen im und ums Haus.

Traumhaftes toskanisches Haus mit allerliebsten Gastgebern

Ich habe mich gleich bei der Ankunft in das Häuschen verliebt mit seinen Holzbalken, Holztüren, dem Steinboden... Es duftet nach Lavendel und wer auch noch Tiere mag, der ist hier genau richtig. Gastgeberin Susan sowie der Rest der Familie sind wirklich so lieb und hilfsbereit. Für Kinder gibt es viele Beschäftigungsmöglichkeiten neben dem Pool (Trampolin, Tischtennis, Schaukel, Seilbahn). Lucca erreicht man in 25 Minuten und auch ein Ausflug ans Meer ist möglich.

Entspannung inmitten der Natur

Wir hatten eine traumhafte Woche in diesem niedlichen Häuschen inmitten idyllischer toskanischer Landschaft. Unsere zwei Kinder im Teenageralter hatten großen Spaß im Pool. Susan ist eine unglaublich herzliche und hilfsbereite Vermieterin. Diese Unterkunft ist ideal für Urlauber die die Nähe zur Natur genießen und fernab jeglichen Trubels enspannen wollen. Trotzdem liegen die Städte Lucca, Pisa und auch Florenz ganz nah.

Brilliant location. 30mins or less to amazing beaches/coastline, lovely Lucca and many more places that we didn't have time to visit. It's a charming property, and Sue is a wonderful host, with fantastic recommendations.
