"Spent two nights here in August before a backpacking trip. Everything was great, as described, the lock was a little tricky to get in - turn the key clockwise and push the door closed or jiggle it while you turn the key. We did not have time to check out the little lake unfortunately. The loft room is sweet! No AC but ceiling fans and stand fans mad it comfortable. Kitchen could use some sharp knives. "

"Seven of us stayed here for a couple of days before a backpacking trip. The house (more than a cabin) was roomy and very comfortable for all of us. The location right on the river was amazing, and we even pulled a couple of trout out of the pool right below the house. The house was clean and Jim was very helpful with questions, so the entire stay went without a hitch. Excellent!"

"My daughter and I needed a mom, daughter trip. Lakemont Pines exceeded our expectations. The house is so well kept and quiet. It is surrounded by pine trees. "We were four couple and two kids, here for a week, for a family reunion and wedding. The bedroom in the basement had private bath, walkout doors, perfect for our bride and groom. Two bedrooms on main floor had private baths. Two bedrooms with lots of beds shared a bath upstairs (great for a family with kids). Small A/C units in bedrooms, "swamp cooler" in living room and large fans throughout the house kept things comfortable in July. The backyard/patio is amazing. (See photo.) A short...

"This is a quiet, peaceful place with many visitors…quail, grey squirrels, turkeys, jack rabbits and deer! We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this quaint, clean cabin where everything we could have wanted was provided. I would have given Forrest and Ginger a ten the very first day just for having the cabin cooled off when we arrived in a very hot day. Be sure to get your directions laid out ahead of time due to spotty service in the area and reach out to the owners for instructions on how to operate the AC. "We booked this lovely cabin to share with family from Australia.We loved everything about it !Memories made here and on our hikes through Yosemite were very special and will certainly give us a reason to come back!"

The location, near Long Barn, was very useful for access to local skiing, and it wasn't difficult to get in or out of (just be aware that the driveway is steep and relatively short in case you have more than one vehicle).
