Driving into this place, I had my reservations until we turned onto the street where the duplex is located. It is definitely a cute little house on a street that has a rough edge next to it. We had a quiet stay, despite the other reviews.
The property is as listed. It is clean and assessable (though rekeying the lock wouldn’t be a bad idea as it is a little tricky) and being able to park under the cover next to the house vehicle was nice. It made me feel more secure somehow.
I’d recommend bringing slippers as the house has beautiful tile and wood floors, and no area rugs or mats in the common areas. The floors were cool, and I could see them being very cold in the winter months. However, I personally loved them! They made cleaning up after my little boy much easier. We had several dinners at the giant marble island and enjoyed the space. We didn’t utilize the rocking chair as there was a lamp without a bulb or a shade placed just behind it, and we didn’t want the kids to mess anything up. From a different review, I wonder if this is the same lamp.
The TV is large and has satellite. We enjoyed watching cartoons with the kids in the evenings. There was also HBO while we were there, and we liked the master bed has the same cable setup and we could watch movies in bed together after the kids went to sleep.
Our children shared the room with the bunk beds. They each slept on the bottom, and they said it was comfy and they enjoyed the magnetic dart board in their room.
The 3rd room went unused the entire time we were here, but it seems like a perfect room for a morning person as it is the brightest room in the house at the start of the day.
The bathrooms were full of clean towels and plenty of soap/toilet paper. I loved the curved shower rods! They’re a great touch!
The dryer is stacked on top of the washer at the end of the hallway, just outside the master and guest bedroom. We used it one night, which was not a great experience—but the person who watches over the property for the owner (across the street) was going to look at it when we leave so hopefully that will be remedied quickly.
The only other “bad” thing (if you can call it bad) was upon arrival, there were several empty bottles of shampoo and body wash in both tubs of the bathrooms. Luckily, we had brought our own out of habit when we travel.
The backyard has a grill, a table, and the game cornhole with the bean bags. My kids enjoyed playing that.
I’d definitely recommend!
