Over all the property was decent. However when I visit a rental I try to think of it in relation to staying at a Hotel, is it better, worse, or about the same. Considering this, some things were better, but a number of key things were worse. The good points were that the house was clearly cleaned before our visit. The location was good though a little more info about what to expect when driving onto the property would have been helpful.
The main issue was the dampness of the house. It was so extremely damp that the bedding and even our cloths felt wet for most of the trip. We turned the AC unit on "dry" mode and after a few hours it started to make a difference, however it smelled musty and clearly needed a good cleaning. There were two damprid containers and 3 "air fresheners" placed throughout the house. This did not help. Even now our luggage still smells like cheap air freshener .
A few other lesser points but still a considerable factor are:
1) The bed - too hard, not firm - just hard, worse then most hotel beds.
2) the couch - an ancient, very worn couch that is bent in the middle, very uncomfortable.
3) the wide steps going down to the entrance - The dirt and gravel has warn away in the step and that leaves a wooden lip at the edge which is VERY easy to trip over going down... I'm fairly certain if there is any building code in the area this would be a violation. You can see the steps I'm talking about in the main picture.
4) One of the pillowcases had a weird gooey mass on it, no idea what it was but we did not use the pillow obviously. The rest of the bedding seemed clean though.
This place has potential, and clearly is a new construction. However it's possible some moisture barrier or insulation was missed during the renovation. If that is addressed along with some of the maintenance points this would be quite a nice place to stay, unfortunately for us it was not so great.
