We stayed for a week at this lovely cosy (but really large) log cabin. The owner was so accommodating and quick to respond to a query I had prior to staying, and gave us lots of suggestions about the beautiful local area. The property was exceptionally clean and spacious, had everything we needed, was really warm after a day out hiking and was just so spacious for our family of five. The three bathrooms were much appreciated, it was nice to have a bath after being out in the Scottish weather all day.
We found lots to do (mostly hikes) in the local area, many on Anna’s recommendation - Schiehallion (Munro), Birks of Aberfeldy, Faskally, Allean/Queen’s View, Killiekrankie, Ben Lawers. Also a lovely visit to the Pitlochry Dam and fish ladder visitor centre , dog friendly, and really interesting. We ate out at the Inn on the Tay, and Mains of Taymouth, both lovely, and got a takeaway from Chillies in Aberfeldy, also good. There’s no local shop as the campsite shop has shut for the season at the end of September, so it just means you need to be organised to save a trip to the Co-op in Aberfeldy/Pitlochry, not a problem at all.
The area was really beautiful, somewhere we hadn’t explored before, and we would love to come back, and would love to stay in Anna’s lovely property again.
