I stayed at Casa Eddie from Jan 9 to Jan 15, 2020 with the family, including my two kids aged 5 and 7 and would highly recommend it. The property is like you see it on the pictures: oceanfront, very clean and well maintained. We were truly amazed. I traveled a lot in central America, including Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama and Honduras and this place scores among the best. Lots of birds to see directly from the veranda. Great landscaping and private beach with shallow water for the kids (we were there all the time). Lounging chairs and kayaks were also available. I’m sure you can fish out of the dock. Rooms were clean, spacious, and well appointed. There is a nice outdoor sitting area for meals and drinks at the sound of the waves. Excellent WiFi, AC and kitchen amenities, including a BBQ.
Orlando, the caretaker, is a great host and he was able to answer all our questions and provide us with good recommendation with regards to groceries, snorkeling tours, restaurants, etc. The welcome binder was also a good source of information. One morning, I woke up to realize he had washed my car!
Plasencia is about 15-20 minutes away given all the speed bumps so better to have your own car if you want to explore the area on your own. What I liked about this location is that it is on the northern part of the peninsula, which ended-up cutting a lot of driving time if you want to use it as a base to go to Maya Beach, Hopkins, Dangria, and Cockscomb Basin, while still being close to Plasencia.
The sister property (Casa Corazon) is even more amazing with a pool and some additional amenities such as additional bedrooms and a larger outdoor deck. I would definitely go back.
