I was up there to celebrate my birthday with my adult daughter. It’s a good jump-off point to visit the Gold Country, Truckee and Tahoe. We used to live very nearby and are familiar with the area. The neighbors are VERY far apart, so you have a nice feeling of privacy. You can see other homes, so it’s not so secluded that you feel completely out in the middle of nowhere, it’s a perfect location. It’s a short drive into town, and out to I-80. There’s a great grocery store in town, and we also enjoyed eating at the Tin Lantern Bar and Grill, also right there in Meadow Vista. We absolutely loved our stay at this precious cabin. It was very comfortable, updated and very well stocked. I don’t know if I was just exhausted from all of the driving around we did, but I slept better than I have in years. It was perfect for two people. Inez the property manager was very responsive to my questions and when I updated her to let her know we arrived safely and got in just fine. She was very friendly and easy to contact. It gets very hot up there, and the air conditioner did a wonderful job of keeping us cool and comfortable. That is a must for me! We did see deer on our last day, but saw them all over the place while driving around the neighborhood. Let me leave you with some good dining options. Edelweiss for breakfast and lunch and Awful Annie’s for breakfast, both in Auburn. Happy Wok for Chinese, and Pizza Express, both in Auburn, and Dine and Dash in Colfax.
