The gite was lovely and a lot bigger than we expected, but there were only 4 of us who visited. The gite had everything we needed, and the view was lovely - across the road was a vineyard, but the gite is on a road where, although cars are few and far between, they do drive far too fast.
We had a lovely few days at the beginning of our holiday but on the fourth day a taxi drove into us at speed (not near the gite, on the way to Jonzac) and the hire car we were in was flipped over and ended up upside down, and we were all taken to hospital.
We got a cab back to the gite that night and the next day I messaged the owners to ask if they could recommend somewhere that could deliver food to us. 10 minutes later, Cathy showed up at the door, took me to a supermarket, waited for me, then drove me back to the gite. Fantastic client service!
Sadly, we had to leave the gite early as we no longer had a car so had to move to the centre of Bordeaux for the remainder of our time in France - we would have loved to have stayed in the gite but it just wasn't possible without a car as it is very remote.
The only small thing that would have made our stay better would have been some basics there on our arrival - tea, coffee, milk, bread, etc. I realise that some guests may only spend 1 or 2 nights, but we were there for 10 nights and all the shops were shut when we arrived so we couldn't even have a cuppa in the morning. Apart from that, everything was spot on - well done, ladies!
