Traumhaus mit Blick auf Ponta do Sol
Ein toller Wanderurlaub auf Madeira. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet, es fehlt an nichts. 3 Bäder = Luxus. Es bietet Platz für 6 Erwachsene. Die Aussicht von den 2 Terrassen ist grandios! Wir haben jeden Tag draußen gefrühstückt. Besonders hervorzuheben auch der offene Kamin zum Grillen. Der Empfang und die Betreuung durch Nelson - einfach super. Er ist 24/7 verfügbar. Vom Haus in den Ort dauert es zu Fuß 10 Minuten; zurück wegen der beträchtlichen Steigung 20 Minuten. Im Ort gibt es eine kleine Auswahl an Restaurants. Direkt an der Tankstelle befindet sich ein gut ausgestatteter Supermarkt. Einige Wanderungen kann man direkt vom Haus aus starten. Besonders zu empfehlen ist die Levada Nova. Wir hatten ein Mietwagen, waren dadurch sehr mobil und haben Wanderungen auf der ganzen Insel unternommen. Prinzipiell sollte man den Tag zum Wandern früh starten, sonst wird es bei einigen Wanderungen doch sehr voll. Fährt man mit dem Auto nach Funchal, gibt es direkt neben der Seilbahn ein Parkhaus. Wir waren 2 Wochen auf Madeira und werden mit Sicherheit noch mal wiederkommen! Vielen Dank Nelson.

Very comfortable house and wonderful host!
This balcony view from this home was STUNNING, and the home very clean and comfortable. Our host was wonderful, and provided a lovely "care package" of traditional treats and wine, coffee, and home-produced eggs and bananas. Nelson was friendly, gracious, communicative, and provided recommendations and advice for our stay. For me, the highlight of our trip was hiking the Ponta do Sol levada - spectacular natural beauty of sea, mountains, waterfalls, plants and flowers. However, please be aware that there are sheer drop-offs, and this trail would not be suitable for young children or those who are not sure-footed. Thanks for a great vacation, Nelson!

We loved our stay here. The location was great - could even walk to a small restaurant/bar up the street. Incredible view and the hosts were lovely. Beds were very firm but that was our only slightly negative thing about the whole place. We loved it!

Perfect, clean and spacious house with a beautiful view
We were received by Nelson who made us feel welcome. Nelson was easy and accessible to get in touch with. He showed us around the house and was a super host, so cheerful and kind! The house is very spacious and clean. There are three terraces. We used the terrace In front of the living the most. Maybe if there would be some garden furniture on the rooftop, we would have used that one also. The beds (all box springs) were good and it was nice that there are more bathrooms (3 in total! There is also a bathroom in the outdoor kitchen!) The shower is really nice and the bathroom was spacious, clean and comfortable (with even a bubble bath which we didn’t use). We also were happy with the fan in our bedroom. The living room has new furniture, different from the pictures. It all looks nice and modern. And there is an attic with two more beds (boxsprings). So you have three different bed rooms and six sleepingplaces. We had a lot of privacy and the view from the terrace…. Wow, we loved it! We have spend a lot of time on the terrace, also in the night it is nice to look at the lights of the village. And beneath the terrace is a beautiful banana grove. The kitchen is wel equipped and has everything you need. The washing machine is a plus. In the night it is very quiet and you have all the privacy because the property is closed by a big electric fence. The car is easily parked above the house. Just be aware of a steep climb back from the village (20m)

The Casa was very clean, big rooms and a large livingroom with a fantastic view to Ponta do Sol. The house was well equipped, we did not miss anything. Everything is like the pictures on the Vrbo-site. The road to the house is very steep – like many roads on Madeira - but we could park our car at the neighbours house which was easier to access. Ponta do Sol was a good choice because it was most of the time sunny and warm while it was more cloudy in the center and north of the island. We enjoyed our stay at Home Araujo very much

Breathtaking View, Lovely House
Casa Arugo became our home for 3.5 months. We did not want to leave. The beds were so comfortable & there are 3 washrooms. It was great having the convenience of a washing machine as well. The host, Nelson is amazing. The owners were always accomodating & helpful when needed. The house is spacious, large, private, clean, new & has all the comforts of home but the view from the main very large balcony is spectacular. Words cannot describe the beauty you will wake up to every day from inside or outside as the entire wall to the outside is glass sliding doors. There is a second level balcony that is marvelous. The BBQ room is gorgeous. We used it many times for ribs, chicken & fish that we purchased at the large Continent grocery store in Ribera Brava. The house location is perfect to explore the extremely quiet neighborhood on foot. It is Madeira so it is hilly. The town of Ponta do Sol is a short walk where you'll find a smaller grocery store for all your needs. It also offers delicious baked bread & desserts as well as a coffee shop. There's a small enclosed mall. A little further is the beautiful ocean where you can swim. Also a five minute walk from the house you will find 2 convenient local taverns offering excellent food & drinks at unbeatable prices. It is best to have a car because there is so many incredible places to see on the island. Be sure to do your research for the many sights. Parking is convenient & safe right next door on the owners property. Madeira is one of the most beautiful places you will ever see. Staying at Casa Arugo was the perfect choice for us. We hope to return for another long stay next year

The house was very clean and the propery manager, Nelson, helpful and friendly. However, the house itself needs redecoration: some appliances work poorly (gas cooker), are old and difficult to use. The kitchen was poorly eqipped, there weren’t enough cups, kettles, there’s no dishwasher and all seems used and outdated. The furniture in the house also seem old and not comfortable, the living room is poorly and cheaply furnished. The bathrooms are old and outdated. The house needs redecoration asap. What was also a nuisance is the third bedroom: it’s placed upstairs but with no door and our adult daughter wasn’t comfortable there at all. In general: we don’t recommend the house and wouldn’t like to return there, though we loved Madeira and will be returning to the island for sure. But not to this property ☹️

Très belle maison, au calme, avec une vue incroyable. Petits cadeaux d'arrivée fort appréciables et appréciés ! Cuisine fonctionnelle avec tous les équipements nécessaires. Nelson nous a reçu avec beaucoup de gentillesse et nous a donnés plein de conseils. Merci à lui. Vous pouvez louer les yeux fermés.

Sehr empfehlenswertes Anwesen
Wir wurden von Nelson wunderbar empfangen. Als Willkommensgruß gab es Bananen aus seinem Garten mit anderen lokalen Spezialitäten. Das Haus ist angenehm groß und man hat zu viert sehr gut Platz. Es ist eigentlich fast alles vorhanden was man für einen entspannten Urlaub benötigt( einzig ein Geschirrspüler wäre noch sehr angenehm). Am schönsten fanden wir die Dusche im "Grillraum": Hier hat man während dem Duschen einen super Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang. Die Zufahrt ist sicher wie schon öfters beschrieben schmal, aber eigentlich kein Problem (Die Straße ist eine Einbahn; man kommt nur von oben zum Haus). Das einzige was ein wenig gestört hat war das WLAN: das funktioniert grundsätzlich super, aber nur im unteren Bereich; im Rest vom Haus war kein Empfang. Die Stechmücken waren auch etwas lästig, aber dafür kann niemand etwas. Zusammengefasst: 14 wunderbar Tage auf eine sehr schönen Insel im wahrscheinlich besten Eck von Madeira.

Sonne im November
Eine strahlende Sonne im November und ein herzlicher und immer hilfsbereiter Hausverwalter Nelson: was will man mehr? Großzügige Räume, drei Sonnenterrassen und der Blick auf den Atlantik und Ponta do Sol, der für uns schönste Ort an der Südküste Madeiras, bleiben in angenehmster Erinnerung.

Warm welcome with fabulous views
This property far exceeds expectations, the welcome from Nelson was friendly and informative and we thank him for the kind gifts of local produce. We had a comfortable stay with everything we needed and magnificent views of the sea and village. Good location for a walk down to the village and plenty of exercise walking back up which we did twice a day, beats going to the gym! Can’t recommend highly enough.

Tolles großes Haus in Top Lage mit gigantische Aussicht!
Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet was man als Selbstversorger braucht, Küche mit Gasherd und Ofen, großer Kühl- und gefrierschrank, Waschmaschine, Bügeleisen und Brett. 2 Schlafzimmer, 1 großes ensuite Bad mit Wanne, 1 kleines Bad mit Dusche, großes Wohnzimmer mit Panoramafenstern und Meerblick nach Westen und anschließender großer Terrasse. Extra Anbau mit gemauertem Grill. Dachterrasse auf der man auch zum Frühstück in der Sonne sitzen kann. Wir hatten einen Kombi und konnten problemlos am Nachbargrundstück der Besitzer parken. Nelson war immer erreichbar und hilfsbereit. Insgesamt 5 Sterne. Leider funktionierte das Warmwasser nicht richtig, man musste teilweise das Wasser 5 min laufen lassen, deshalb 1 Stern Abzug.

Outstanding house with an amazing view & fabulous host
We spent 2 weeks in this extremely pleasant house and enjoyed our stay very much. There's lots of space, the view is stunning, and the host is very welcoming and always ready (& happy) to help (extra five stars for him!) - Generous built in closets provide more than enough storage possibilities for clothes & luggage; plenty of towels, teatowels and kitchen equipment make it easy to forget you're actually *not* at your own home. The street is a bit narrow, so renting a not-to-big car is a good idea, but we didn't find that to be an issue. An extra plus - especially if you're stressed out and need some peace - is the fact that the surrounding neighbourhood is really quiet. We definitely recommend this place and hope to go there again in the future.

Das Haus ist sehr schön. Der Blick ist klasse. Alles da was man sich wünscht. Man braucht zwingend ein kleines Auto. 1. Strasse und Einfahrt zum Haus sehr starkes Gefälle und deshalb schwierig auf dem Hausparkplatz zu kommen. 2. Es liegt abseits vom allen oben auf dem Berg. Sehr schöne, saubere und gut ausgestattete Wohnung mit tollem Ausblick.
Wir waren 1 Woche dort und haben uns von Anfang an wohl gefühlt. Ein Auto sollte vorhanden sein, die Straße ist sehr steil. Ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen. Einen ganz besonderen Dank nochmals an Nelson, für die gute Betreuung!

Tolles Haus mit phantastischer Weitsicht
Wenn das Mietauto nicht allzu gross ist, ist es aber kein Problem und die Gewöhnung kommt rasch. Es lohnt sich, die Antweisungen vom Satnav kritisch zu beurteilen und eher den breiteren Strassen zu folgen. Sehr elektrosensitive Personen müssen wissen, dass alle elektrischen Leitungen sowie die Mobilfunkantenen sehr nahe am Haus sind. Wir hatten damit kDas Haus ist sehr sauber und sehr gut unterhalten. Wir sind von Nelson sehr freundlich empfangen worden. Er war immer zur Stelle, wenn wir eine Frage hatten. Die Küche ist modern und gut ausgestattet. Bei den drei Terrassen kann man immer eine nehmen, welche dem Wind abgewendet ist. Es ist ein sehr ruhiges Quartier und es gibt keinen Strassenlärm. Jeder Sonnenuntergang ist von der Terrasse oder vom Wohnzimmer mit den grossen Fenstern ein Ereignis. Bei den schmalen und steilen Strassen ist eine gewisse Fahrroutine von Vorteil, so auch für die Anfahrt zum Haus. ein Problem. Wir können das Haus in jeder Hinsicht empfehlen.

La plus belle vue de Ponta do Sol
Nous avons passé 1 semaine dans cette superbe maison. Tout y est vraiment très fonctionnel ! Plusieurs terrasses qui permettent d'être soit à l'ombre pour se rafraîchir, soit au soleil pour profiter de la vue. Les couchers de soleil sont juste magnifiques. L'endroit est très tranquille et la vue ... woaw ! Idéalement située, au sud de l'île donc bien ensoleillé et à proximité des principales attractions touristiques. Mention spéciale à l'accueil ! Merci énormément à Nelson pour sa gentillesse, ses bons conseils et sa joie de vivre (On a beaucoup rigolé !!!). Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir, c'est une très bonne adresse. Geoffrey & Maxime

perfektes Haus mit super Aussicht
Alles hat von Anfang an super geklappt: Nelson gibt vorab per Mail eine Wegbeschreibung zum Haus, auf unsere Anfrage hin hat er uns einen Auto-Vermieter vermittelt, mit dem wir uns am Flughafen getroffen haben. Das Haus hat wirklich 3 Terrassen - wir konnten es uns gemäß der Beschreibung kaum vorstellen. Es ist alles neu, sauber, ordentlich, nicht überladen, aber alles da, was man braucht - sogar Strandtücher und Straßenkarten. Nelson ist jederzeit telefonisch erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit. Ein perfekter Urlaub - vielen Dank!
