First the good. You can't beat the view...it is awesome. We enjoyed sitting at the kitchen table in the morning and watching the ocean. And we loved being able to walk to just about anything in town. Highly recommend the Crazy Norwegian! But now for the not so good. Place was clean, with apparently new appliances, but in need of some other upgrades and maintenance. The walkway to the front door was overgrown and potentially dangerous in the dark so we chose to walk up the road..which is a ways from the driveway especially when you have a bunch of luggage. There is a garage, which would have made getting in the house super easy, but we were not given access. The outside of the house looks somewhat rundown...in need of paint or cleaning or both. Some things inside were broken when we got there...including the smoke detector hanging from the ceiling and a broken faucet handle. My husband actually went to the hardware store and got a part to fix the faucet. But probably the biggest disappointment was the almost complete lack of usable cookware. Most of the small and VERY limited pots/pans looked like they were salvaged from the wreck of the Titanic. The coatings/teflon were peeling, scratched and chipping off and they just looked unsafe to eat food out of. They weren't very functional either. It's not like we needed to cook a huge feast, and we weren't expecting fancy cookware, but one of the reasons you rent a house is so you can cook some of your own food...as least for us it is. Some larger pots and skillets and a couple baking pans would be helpful. The most useful thing they had (luckily) was an electric skillet. We were also expecting a grill because one was pictured in their listing. There was NOT a grill that we could find which threw a wrench in our plan to cook fresh seafood. Trying to cook a live crab in an electric skillet was an interesting new experience. Living room furniture is functional, but not comfy. Since we couldn't figure out how to get the tv to work (no instructions) we didn't spend much time there anyway. Finally, they could really use some lawn chairs or small table or something outside to sit on. With such a beautiful view and weather, it was a shame to not be able to sit outside. This would go from an "ok" place to a "great" place if they put a little more thought into making guests feel comfortable and welcome.
