"This place is for people who love peace and quiet and privacy, we do. Noise from the road is almost minimal, perhaps if you sit in the front garden but we spent all time in the back garden watching sunrises, ships passing by, listening to bird songs early morning, fishing from the private beach. Location worked well for us, we used our car to get around, nearest supermarket is in Dunoon about 15 minutes drive away. "Holiday with my sister, elderly mother and two dogs. Property was spotless and extremely well equipped. Views and garden area were lovely. Downstairs bedroom and shower room were perfect my mother who relies on a walking frame. Garden was fully enclosed and safe for my two cockapoos."

"The location is very good, offering very nice views and a serene atmosphere that made our stay very relaxing regardless of the Scottish weather. "Don't be put off any the tired exterior of Grove House. The apartment is well presented, well equipped though you must be prepared to climb 38 steps to get to this attic location. The upside is breathtaking views of the sea. Low star for communication is that although owner lives in ground floor there is no attempt to make personal contact. Odd."

"If you are looking for a slower paced experience, this is a lovely place to stay. The neighbors are friendly, and the tavern at the end of the road had wonderful food and good service. The village was peaceful and charming. It was easy to get to almost anywhere in Scotland with 3-5 hour drives. The road in to the village is quaint and you need to take your time getting in. Can’t wait to come back."

"Our third holiday on Bute, it's such a great place. We all love jumping in the sea and digging on Ettrick Bay! The lounge at Kildavannan is just lovely, so warm and amazing views as you sit in the window seats."

"We all immediately felt relaxed upon walking through the door. The place just has a cozy feel. Would recommend to anyone that's looking to decompress and just hang out. You must go to Puck's Glen though, which will be more than enough exercise for your stay."

"The Glenburn has seen better days. The decor is a bit tired and in need of refurb as as the bathrooms. But. it's clean, tidy, food was good, staff were terrific. So as budget stays go, it's hard to beat. The building itself looks like a 5 star hotel in images but that's not the case internally anymore. Wouldn't take much to transform the place, but i guess the investment vs return just isn't there anymore - which is a shame."
