Peace on the River
Right on the water, a quiet home we'd love to come back to: 2 bed/bath suites on opposite ends for privacy, every possible kitchen convenience, rainfall shower heads with handheld spray options, straight shot to/from the ramp down from parking, a wonderful deck for morning coffee and evening drinks watching the rain fall. A lovely weekend!

Great experience!
What a fun stay on a floating home! The home was generously equipped with everything we needed. There is a steep ramp with stairs to access, so if mobility is limited this might not be suited for you. Otherwise, it’s a gem! The infrared sauna is the icing on the cake.

Tranquil Marine Community
We soaked in the tranquility of our very first floating home experience in this unique marine community. We read, listened to music and casted a fishing line. Sip your coffee or tea on the floating dock. We even had daily duck and geese visitors. Perhaps you may even get to spot an otter, heron, osprey or bald eagle. Kayak on still mornings or into the sunset and quiet dark of night. Enjoyed home cooked meals in a well-stocked full kitchen. Try out the Island Cafe as it is just across the marina. Maybe you just want to experience “il dolce far niente”… “the beauty of doing nothing”. Rest assured, you will leave feeling rejuvenated! Great stay! Just keep in mind, this is not a property for anyone with physical challenges as there is a long, steep ramp access to the dock.

What a view!
The house was clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was available. My brother lived the fact that there was a cold beer in the fridge that said enjoy. It was fun and relaxing sitting on the deck and watching the boats.

Wonderful Stay
We had a wonderful stay on the water. It was so beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks. The home had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. We will stay here for our next visit for sure.

Otter House PDX Floating Home
I was excited to arrive based on the profile online, but this place was even better than expected! This quiet, calm marine life just off the Columbia River was just what we needed. The decor and amenities make you feel at home instantly. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were beautifully appointed. The chef kitchen was icing on the cake! The deck seating, Himalayan salt sauna and water toys connect you the PNW surroundings. This is a great place to stay while in Portland!

Such a unique delight!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Otter House! The location was perfect, the house was unique and beautiful inside (with essentially everything we needed and wanted). We enjoyed kayaking off the porch and the weather was incredible! We will definitely be back!

Vacation in paradise!
2 en suites, fishing off the back deck, paddling with kayaks, lunch at Island Cafe, bicycling along the river, close to downtown Portland and Vancouver and so much more! Also a very sweet infrared sauna on the deck! A bit of heaven on the water!

A special treat
This was such a fun and unique property and location! Loved the decor of the boat house and the back deck was a sanctuary. We loved having our morning coffee watching the baby ducks swim by. The owner of the property was very responsive to any questions that came up. She goes above and beyond to ensure a top notch experience!

Fantastic Stay
This gem of a rental was amazingly stocked with amenities. From high quality pans and cookware to seasonings, gourmet coffee and even a expresso machine. Beds were super comfy. We used the paddle boards and had a blast cruising around this river house neighborhood. My husband couldn't get enough of having his morning coffee and working on his laptop in the mornings on the patio to beautiful perfect weather. We couldn't have asked for more.

Fabulous Unique Rental on A Floating House Boat
It is an amazing and unique experience for old and young alike. The kids (and parents) will be entertained by the entirely different experience right on the water. We saw Bald Eagles, Osprey and so many others. The flowers and beauty are all there to behold from your deck or living room. What a wonderful and great memorable time with my grown son made so special by Heidi. We had a lost & found rental car issue and Heidi spent as long as it took to be sure I got it back. At one point going to the airport for hours. Amazing kindness and caring which followed through to every detail of our stay. I am physically challenged and just had to very slowly go up and down the ramp to get to the rental. But It is so worth it. Thank you Heidi for taking care of every concern and going way above and beyond. I hope you expand your rentals--would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you Heidi!

Otter House was the best rental property I have every stayed at.
The Otter House was amazing. The owner Heidi was great to work with and she had the house well stocked. The neighbors were very kind and we will definitely being going back in the future.

The owner was easy to communicate with. The house was clean and welcoming. Sitting on the deck in the morning, drinking a cup of coffee and watching the baby ducks was wonderful. Little kayak down river was so much fun!!

Short but Sweet
Although our stay was shorter than expected we loved every minute. The houseboat was easy to find. It was nicely maintained with all necessary amenities (and even a few extra nice surprises). We enjoyed waking up and walking out the front door to sit beside the river with coffee in hand. Walking out the front door to take a dive into the river. Eating dinner and watching the sunset. It was full of life and entertainment. Can't wait to take the kids next time.
