Overall, this is a good option for Portland, which has limited rental homes. Home is in a cute little neighborhood within walking distance of Alberta St. It's not large, but we comfortably fit multiple adults and kids for a few days. The kids loved the random toys and books in the house, and they had fun playing at the nearby neighborhood park.
The main challenge was the AC. Knowing that there was going to be a heatwave in Portland on the days we would be staying there, I reached out in advance and was assured that there was an AC unit. Unfortunately, the unit was only in the living room, and it couldn't really cool the bedrooms. This isn't an issue 99.9% of the time in this city; we just happened to be there on some of the hottest days of the year, which made it tricky with a baby and elderly parents.
(Also, FWIW -- there was a previous review from someone noting that they had not known in advance that someone lived on the property, and an owner response about transparency. At the time that I booked (last winter), the listing did not explain that someone lived there -- that note seems to have been added more recently. I remember this clearly because I had looked at other listings that DID note that there was someone living on site, and we picked this one partly because it didn't say that. However, this wasn't an issue at all for us -- we never saw or heard anyone else on the property during our stay.)
