Every detail was thought of!
Amazing place! Details down to USB chargers in every room, instructions on how to use TV and Bluetooth speakers etc. all the big stuff and small stuff was thought of! All 12 of us loved it!

Exceptional and Amazing!!
We had the most wonderful & amazing stay at Villa Tortuga!! First, the place is more incredible than the photos show. Secondly, the staff was absolutely amazing!! They all were so warm and welcoming. Chef Ricardo and Alba’s meals looked like a photo and tasted as if like we were eating at a 5 star restaurant. We just allowed him to do his thing and said "surprise us". We were never disappointed!! The house keeper was such a sweetheart and keep the house immaculate, as well as the grounds keeper outside. Jessica was very responsive and attentive to our requests. She connected us with a taxi driver (Gilbert) who ended up transporting us several places. Once we got his contact info, we just contacted him directly. He too was very responsive. It was as if we had our own personal driver for the week.This was a vacation we will never forget with special memories made we will hold forever in our hearts and minds. Thank you so much Jackie to you and all of your staff as well as all the friendly people there in the Manuel Antonio/Quepos area!!

Magical stay in Manuel Antonio!
Our group of 11 absolutely loved our stay at Villa Tortuga. The host, Jackie, was very communicative and checking in was a breeze. Everything inside and out was beautiful and clean. It truly felt like a luxury resort! Plenty of space for everyone to gather together for dinner or playing games, and a unique multi-level layout to give privacy as well. The property is well-equipped with A/C, an amazing chef's kitchen, and tons of towels.The location is spectacular with a stunning view of the ocean, and close to shops and restaurants. There was wildlife everywhere -- little anoles flitting about the property at night, sounds of monkeys calling to each other, and toucans flying right in front of the huge picture window! The kids had a blast playing in the pool and the adults loved getting massages and hanging out on the huge covered outdoor patio. Of course, all the other reviews are right -- the highlight of our stay was Chef Ricardo and his wife Alba making us amazing meals every day, even on Christmas! Our group is all vegetarian, and they were able to accommodate effortlessly. Every meal (breakfast and dinner) was delicious and unique, and they made a special Anniversary dinner one night as well. Not needing to cook (or clean!) kept us in vacation-mode our whole stay. They were wonderful company, and even allowed our 5 kids to "help" them make dinner one night, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.If we are fortunate to return to Costa Rica, we would 100% stay here again!

Wonderful
We had a marvelous stay. The chef and staff were just wonderful and the chef made our stay incredible. He was able to create meals which our grandchildren would eat and the desserts were fantastic as well as the meals. The home was beautiful and the photos on line do not do it justice. It was an amazing place to have a family trip. Highly recommended.

Best experience!
While we were visiting the area received torrential rain so we didn’t get to experience the property as it was intended. However we learned the property has a small resort feel. Very well designed for communal visits. Very clean. Very well appointed. Very safe. But what makes this property exceptional are the people. Isolde the housecleaner was attentive and kind and kept the place spotless. Ricardo and his wife Alba prepared the yummiest of breakfasts… so beautifully prepared and presented. We also had 2 dinners prepared by them. We will never forget their outstanding meals and overall generosity. We have rented in several countries and this will remain closest to our hearts.

Fantastic time in Quepos
We had a short trip to Costa Rica, but loved every minute in the house. It is a beautiful property with many different balocnies and decks. It has a lot of stairs, so keep that in mind when reserving. We had monkeys around the house every day and a raccoon that visited regularly. The scarlet macaws were amazing as well. The staff was fantastic! Cesar prepared amazing meals for breakfast and dinner. We loved everything he made. Overall, we cannot recommend this property enough!

Our family of 5 adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay at beautiful Villa Tortuga! Although we were gone most of the day, we enjoyed coming home and hanging out by the pool together, enjoying the gorgeous views of Manuel Antonito, while chef Ricardo and his wife Alba prepared dinner. After our successful fishing day, Ricardo prepared the fresh tuna into tasty appetizers and dinner for 2 nights. Food was outstanding, Ricardo and Alba so kind, and such a treat to have meals prepared and the kitchen cleaned daily!! Highly recommend!

Absolutely Amazing!
Top notch! We always use VRBO. This was a first in a different country and we were blown away!! The pictures and description are spot on. What you can’t capture in the description is the incredible STAFF!! If we could have brought them home with us.. we would have. But since we can’t.. we will be coming back next year so we can return to see them and more of this beautiful region. Ricardo you and your beautiful wife are great people and you made us feel like your family. As for tours, we did a lot in 5 days. We did the ATV, Whitewater rafting, the waterfalls, the beach, the Catamaran. Tony’s tours are great and we can’t say enough about Tony or Caesar. They will definitely be on our list. They went above and beyond just tour guides! They also became part of our family and are in our hearts. Jackie, your home is beautiful!!!! We will be back next year!! Pura Vida❤️❤️❤️

Wonderful Getaway
We had a very large group and we had more than enough space. Each family enjoyed their room and private bathroom. The house is amazing, be ready for lots of stairs! But the stairs will help you work off all of the wonderful food from Chef Ricardo who was amazing and accommodating with our large group. We had everything set up for us by Jessica and had great communication with excursion, massage and shuttle arrangements. Everything went as planned and smooth. With different ages, abilities and dietary needs we were all happy with our trip from start to finish!

Villa Tortuga Was Awesome
We stayed at Villa Tortuga for a total of 6 nights The property and the service staff (i.e. chef, concierge, housekeeper) that came with the property did not disappoint....it was 5 star all the way. The furnishings, layout and features of the home were stunning. The home has multiple levels/decks with great views of the Pacific ocean as well as a fantastic pool area with a bar and lounge chairs. What stood out the most, however, was the hospitality and service of the staff associated with the property. They all made this one the most relaxing family vacation experiences we have ever had. Examples of the service we utilized and/or experienced were as follows: Several months before our stay we utilized the concierge (Jessica) to book our airport transfers to the home as well as several tours in the area. This was valuable as Jessica has relationships with the tour and transportation companies and made sure things went smoothly as planned. Once we got to the property we were greeted by Chef Ricardo and his wife who were great local hosts and provided us with a stress free vacation. Not only did they do all the shopping for the groceries/beverages but they made absolutely fantastic meals that rival any high end restaurant. In summary, the home was more akin to a full service resort versus a traditional VRBO rental. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful home/service and highly recommend staying at Villa Tortuga for your Costa Rica vacation.

Friends getaway
We were a group of 5 couples staying at Villa Tortuga. The property is beautiful with comfortable, well appointed private sleeping spaces and bathrooms. The common gathering areas such as the living room, kitchen, pool area and deck spaces were large and well maintained. The staff at the house was incredible. We were provided with amazing service throughout the trip. The meals prepared by Chef Ricardo and Alba were outstanding. We felt like we were eating at a 5 star restaurant. Truly luxurious to have gourmet food prepared and served in the comfort of this beautiful house. Would definitely recommend.

Best vacation property we’ve ever rented!
I can’t say enough good things about Villa Tortuga. The property outshone the listing. Jackie has anticipated everything you might need and stocked the home with it. Chef Ricardo and Alba made us fantastic meals everyday (what will I do when I have to go home and cook for myself again??). The housekeeper is a ray of sunshine, keeping the home beautiful, and the concierge took care of our bookings and arranged for massages and pedicures. Amazing home
The pictures on line look nice -- but don't do the house justice. It is absolutely breathtaking. The views -- wow. The house was so clean. The concierge, the chef, the housekeeper and the groundskeeper all work so well together to provide a magical experience for the guests. The chef Ricardo and his wife Alba were the highlight of our visit -- the food, the presentation.....better than most any restaurant that we have been to. If you are thinking about this house -- BOOK it now! You won't be disappointed. Pura Vida!! It is walkable to the top of the road to catch the bus to the beach (although it us uphill). The stairs are no joke but for that view -- totally worth it! So much thought has gone into this home for the guests - from the full coffee bar to the amply stocked cocktail and wine glasses, and everything in between. We can't wait to return!! Thank you Jackie and your staff for being part of one of our families FAVORITE vacations!!

A True Week in Paradise
Our group spent a magical week at Villa Tortuga. The location, view, house, pool, and FOOD were amazing. Chefs Ricardo and Alba were easily the best part of the trip, making us fresh, tasty meals every day and catering to our different dietary needs. The grounds and home are well kept by the friendly staff, and laundry service was a great plus. It was easy and convenient to work with the concierge to arrange our activities each day. (We absolutely recommend the massage and a guided tour of the National Park!) The visits from monkeys made our stay special, even if they did try to steal our snacks -- the wildlife in Manuel Antonio makes it such a unique destination. We opted to rent the extra 5th bedroom on the upper-level which has a King bed to fit everyone comfortably as we found the beds in the lower annex purple room and the green room off the kitchen to be somewhat small for two adults (they felt slightly smaller than Queens). We recommend being mindful to bring enough cash. The owner/staff did a good job explaining this when we booked the house. The food/grocery bill and most excursions are paid with a credit card. But cash is needed for tips, massages and the purchase of fish, meat, seafood, plus an 18% gratuity of the bill for what was consumed. Our group opted for multiple massages, lots of fresh seafood and well-deserved tips for the staff and we each spent several hundred dollars in (U.S. currency) cash. We would absolutely recommend this property to anyone trave

Gorgeous property and AMAZING service!
Our group of 6 spent six nights here and did not want to leave. The house is amazing, the beds are comfortable and it has fantastic views. We spent hours in the pool and bar area in the afternoons after our hikes/ziplining adventures. Each morning we spent time on the many decks listening for and taking pictures of macaws, toucans and monkeys. The on-site spa room was so nice and convenient and Jessica made all the arrangements for the services. Ricardo and Alba make a fantastic Chef team and were able to accommodate a range of dietary restrictions seamlessly. We are still talking about the creme brulee, passionfruit pudding, brioche french toast and basil honey dressing! The showstopper though is the service after we checked out. My wife could not find her passport when we were in San Jose and due to fly out the next day. We asked them to recheck the room and Alba figured out it was stuck at the back of the nightstand. As we were making arrangements to hire a Taxi to take us back to Manuel Antonio, Ricardo offered to drive it to us! He delivered it to our hotel with a smile on his face. Unbeatable customer service that we are so thankful for! Thank you to Jessica, Hisolde, Ricardo and Alba for making this an unforgettable trip!

An Exceptional Experience!
'This house is like staying at a private luxury hotel--how did you ever find it?' This is the quote I kept hearing from my family during our stay at Villa Tortuga. The Villa is spacious and well decorated. The grounds and pool area beautiful. The location is perfect in Manuel Antonio area--could walk to the bus and the town (although the terrain is hilly, so you need to be somewhat fit). The house is immaculately clean, thanks to the lovely, helpful housekeeper. BUT, the highlight of the experience was our included chef--Chef Ricardo. His food and presentation of meals was like dining at a high quality restaurant! Our group has some special dietary requests, so he discussed meal options and served the meals family style--perfect for our group. Breakfast and dinner was provided daily (except for staff day off on Sunday). Our thanks to Jackie, the owner, for sharing her home with us. Incredible!
Everything about our stay at Villa Tortuga was incredible. Jackie, the owner, was more than helpful with planning and tips. She was quick to respond and really helped to personalize our experience. Jess, the concierge, was on top of planning our excursions and making changes as needed. She also introduced us to Tony…a real highlight of our trip! He took us on an incredible waterfall tour, gave us surf lessons, And generally hosted us at the beautiful beach. We didnt want for anything!Richardo, the chef, and his wife went above and beyond for us! The food was incredible! Anything we wanted they did and with the most beautiful presentation. They were also so sweet, kind, helpful and easy to be around….it was such a treat! The housekeeper and gardener kept the house and grounds beautiful. In the neighborhood we saw scarlet mccaws, multiple species of monkeys and several sloths…it was awesome! Would highly recommend Villa Tortuga to anyone!

Amazing Costa Rica....and property
Our family of 4 adults had an incredible stay in Manuel Antonio. This property is exactly as advertised...incredible views...incredible staff...incredible service. Chef Ricardo is a world-class chef and treated us like royalty. We never did the "chef thing", but now I am not sure I can go on vacation without a chef. If we could take Ricardo and his wife with us...we would!! Some advice on the area. Book your Manuel Antonio tickets early. We waited until the week we arrived and could not get into the park without a guided tour. Instead, we went on a road trip south to Nauyaca Waterfalls. This is a must-see trip and an awesome waterfall experience. Eating out: Why would you eat out when you have a chef preparing your meals? So, no recommendations here! The day we left to head back to San Jose, we stopped at Playa Hermosa. Wow, an incredible black sand beach...great surfers, and not crowded. We wish we would have found this gem during our stay because we would have gone for at least a couple of beach days. We did go to the local beach and Tony took great care of us. Work with the concierge service to get the details. Overall, I cannot give a stronger recommendation for this VRBO property. Thank you to ALL the staff, including Jackie who was a pleasure to work with setting up the trip! Pura Vida!
