We had a terrific time staying at the River Song Cabin.It is clean and bright and very comfortable, just perfect for our 51st wedding anniversary. We hiked several trails and to several of the lakes. I fished Lower Lone Pine (caught 3 rainbows there) and caught 3 little bookies in the creek, and tried my luck at Hiawatha (but got skunked there). We loved making a little fire in he stove at night to take the chill off and twice fell asleep together on the sofa, hypnotized by the flames. We wanted for nothing (except a potatoe peeler. LOLWe visited the Village a couple times and had a nice dinner out at Beaver Meadows Resort Restaurant to celebrate our 51st, and the food and service was excellent! I highly recommend the glazed salmon.Weather was great. We saw a variety of wildlife; deer, rabbits, camp jays and lots of hummingbirds, and was surprised to watch a bobcat stroll through the property. Also truly loved the adorable little chipmunks and they kept us constantly entertained.A shout out to Carrie and Barb at the Base Camp, who are kind and patient with all my questions and always explained with a warm friendly smile.We absolutely loved our stay there, and I'm sure we’ll return at some time in our future.Thank you Diane for your attention to the details, it really shows in how complete everything came together for us to have a wonderfully relaxing stay very seamlessly.

Beautiful location, well appointed cabin. We had everything we needed and enjoyed being in the natural setting. Hosts were friendly and great with communication. Would recommend!

The area is lovely, the development seems nice as they take pains to be respectful of their neighbors.The overall impression of the cabin is that it is in need of a serious deep cleaning, generally everything is old and a bit shabby.At a price point 40% less than what we paid I'd rate it higher, but it's way too expensive for what it is.We booked 3 nights, but left after 2 nights there.I'm mystified as to what the hosts do with the extra cleaning fee they charge.The hosts seem nice, but this property is extremely overpriced.

Absolutely peaceful location and great property. Just as described. Dianne was super helpful and communicated throughout our stay. Would highly recommend! If you are looking for the perfect mountain getaway with someone special, this is it! Will be back!

Okay little place

The place was quaint and could have been cute had it been cleaner. It was the dirtiest VRBO I have ever stayed in. I mentioned it to the host and they said they clean the place themselves. I had to take Benadryl anytime we were inside because of all the pet hair and dust/dirt everywhere. There was also something resembling feces on the rug in front of the toilet. The walls and cabinets were filthy as well. We thought about canceling when we got there but the bed looked okay so we made it work. I definitely would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone unless they hired a professional house keeper.

Overall lovely Cabin

One thing of note is there are certainly neighbors. The listing indicates the cabin to be more isolated than is the case. There is another cabin home right next to this one (within 100 feet or so). Also there were dirty dishes I discovered while going about cooking. Considering we pay a 100 cleaning fee this was very frustrating. It also left me feeling the need to prewash any dishes I used . Overall though it is a nice property and lovely Cabin

A week on the river

My wife and our two dogs had an amazing time! It was peaceful and quiet and chatted with amazing people on our daily walks. We had heard rumors about moose in the area and actually got to see a young bull walk past the cabin on our last day. What a finish!

Nice quaint cabin with incredible views!

This was an amazing place for my husband and I to escape and just relax. The only reason I gave the cleaniness a middle score is it could use a deep cleaning (light fixtures in kitchen, light bulbs not all working), refrigerator door handles could be deep cleaned as well. Otherwise very nice place .. lots of walking (even in the snow) ... would highly recommend.

River Singing!

Quiet. Quaint. Cozy. Right on the river. Great hiking. ALL the stars! Go early-mid October to see the leaves change. Our fur baby loved it too! We absolutely loved staying here. We will definitely be back!

Nice and remote

The cabin was perfect. It was surrounded by trees, on a very quiet road, and the stargazing was second to none. Keep an eye out for wildlife too! Would definitely book again.

Perfect for Disconnecting

The only reason we can't rate this higher is the cabin needs a deep cleaning (kitchen cabinets, fridge and more) and the kitchen chairs and outside chairs a refresh to feel more comfy. The place is the most perfect location and the space was perfect for us. We went to the Beaver Meadows Ranch for dinner and expected it to be price. Surprisingly it was not. We went to the Tavern for trivia night and that was a blast. Other than that we walked trails around the cabin and outside of the area. We appreciated the hummingbird feeder as that was something we did every day and identified at least 4 types! Everyone should get away from things and enjoy the peace and quite in this remote area! Host was communicative...I recommend sending info via text day of because of reception in the mountains.

The area was beautiful

It was beautiful, but taking your shoes off in a cabin? You need to let people know there isn't grocery shopping. Maybe consider adding a couple throw blankets and maybe a floor fan.

Wonderful Cabin!

Crystal Lakes is a gorgeous community. The cabin is perfect for a long weekend or an extended stay. It is very comfortable and well-appointed for two people traveling with a dog. Communication with the owners was fantastic. All instructions associated with check-in/out, and the Crystal Lakes community were very clear. We particularly enjoyed taking daily walks, fishing in the private lakes, and drinking coffee on the deck while listening to the river. What a treat! A big "thank you" to the owners for sharing this place!

Secluded and beautiful area

Cute cabin located in a quiet area right next to the river. We enjoyed the seating area right by the water. We saw several deer and a spotted fawn, and all different types of birds. We loved being able to bring our dog with us and take lots of walks. The only downside was the cleanliness, there were several dirty items when we arrived, the coffee pot was only rinsed out and still had coffee residue from the previous guests, several knives in the knife rack were dirty. Very basic kitchen supplies to cook with, but we had everything we needed. Overall, it was a great weekend in a hidden gem of an area. Would love to go back and just sit on the deck and watch the birds and listen to the river!
