We checked the web reviews so decided to try out the Grizz. Obviously upgrade work has been started on the outside of building containing the rooms. The reception area entrance was not yet upgraded so we were apprehensive upon entering. The reception area was not overly welcoming but OK. Our check-in went smoothly. Online posting had indicated breakfast was included. The receptionist ensured she included with her check-in details that the only continental breakfast was included. So much for a good breakfast.
Leaving the reception area to room area/corridors was very positive. All was new and well appointed. Opening our room door revealed newly appointed and clean furnishings. Obviously, money has been spent on the rooms and their building. I would guess more reno's will occur over time.
Breakfast was offered in the attached closed restaurant; it was clean and airy. It was continental, toast, cereal selection, warm hard boiled eggs, orange slices, and juice selection. There were no gluten free options other than the eggs, orange slices and juice.
I expect the additional closed facilities, under the common roof, bar, patio and restaurant, will be considered for upgrading and opening, if the other upgrade results are positive.
We look forward to our next visit to track the continuing upgrades.
