Just wonderful!
The house, the area, the views....just perfect for a special holiday away from the buzzy tourism but still only 15min away from the main center. The decor of the house is very stylish and calming and the house is equipped with really all you need for a fantastic stay. Wine cooler, big kitchen, Music equipment, TV, WIFI, BBQ and of course loads and loads of Private garden and terrace space to enjoy! There was a small incident with the Boiler on our day of arrival, but thanks to the team led by property manager Hilde everything was sorted in the quickest and best way possible! Many thanks for making our stay special, and thank you Lucy and family for making it possible for others to enjoy your lovely house! We will return for sure some day!

Stunning house and garden and perfect place for a break on our road trip of Andalusia. We were two couples and we loved coming “home” after a day out, barbecued every evening and enjoyed the serenity.

Highlight of our trip!
My family had a wonderful time at this villa in Ronda. The home is well cared for and the layout is perfectly suited for families with multiple children. My kids loved the beautiful pool, and the surrounding area is breathtaking. Getting into Ronda was a quick 10-15 minute drive. We loved our stay here and would go back in a heart beat!!

We’ve just had a wonderful week at El Olivar! Hilde was very welcoming and informative upon arrival. The villa has the most amazing views, it had everything we needed and more! The kids absolutely loved been in the pool everyday. Lots of beautiful places, towns and lakes to explore, all within a short driving distance. Would highly recommend and we would love to come back and stay one day!

Our Worst Stay Ever
We believe this was once a lovely home, but sadly it is no longer being maintained. The home looks nothing like the pristine pictures.We’ve done home stays around the world & even rented our own home, so we know the challenges. However, this was our worst experience ever. We booked a week,but left early.No one met us at the house. There were no entry instructions and when we called Hilde from the road, she said she sent everything to my WhatsApp account, which I have not used in years and never sent as a contact. She was irritated by the call, mentioning several times she was at work and “couldn’t talk”. The entry to the house was not straightforward so not a stress-free arrival. The house was cold and boiler turned off. Half the lights in this very dark house don’t work. The musty smell of the house is horrible! Even worse the waste smell from the bathrooms. -The grout in the main bath is black,the drain cover is broken so you stand on a sharp, exposed opening while showering. The bottom of the master sink is BLACK! All the furniture is stained, the pool loungers broken.The narrow dirt road to house is pot-holed, stressful & 20 minutes to town. The house is marketed by the owner as a lovingly maintained family home yet they have not visited for over a year. Homes are like people…in need of constant upkeep and TLC. They cannot be ignored for long periods of time and then expected to be at their best. Note: we have many pictures to prove our points but not allowed to post.

Wonderful country home as advertised!
Well designed and managed home, it’s clear the owners have great taste and appreciate quality, from the kitchen appliances to the bedding, everything was comfortable and high end. The setting is truly amazing - quiet, beautiful, very pleasant in every way. The pool was a huge plus for our family and we enjoyed many hours outside around the pool or on one of the several beautiful patios. It made venturing into town harder because the home was so lovely.

Fantastisch huis
Om te beginnen was Lucy heel vriendelijk in de communicatie. We hebben last minute geboekt en ze verzekerde ons dat we al ons geld terugkregen als we door covid niet konden komen. Het huis heeft een heel fijne sfeer, we hebben een heerlijke week gehad! Een ruim huis met goede bedden. En dat mooie uitzicht! Ook erg leuk is dat er overal om het huis terrassen zijn waar je kan zitten. Twee eettafels buiten zodat je altijd de schaduw kan vinden. Prachtige omgeving met leuke zwemplekjes, Ronda en heerlijke restaurants.

A truly fantastic home away from home
We had delayed our holiday at El Olivar from June to actually start in September 2020 hoping that COVID-19 might be a distant memory by then and Lucy was very accommodating in allowing us to do so. That obviously didn't work out quite as planned but it really shouldn't put you off staying here either. Going during a pandemic might be the best decision you make; I think it was ours! The villa was beautifully prepared for our arrival and is set in the countryside with little or no contact with anyone locally. The check-in process is very easy and again Lucy and Hilde couldn't have helped more, adjusting things to our amended flight details and arrival time. The villa itself was clean, spacious, very comfortable and had everything we could want. Rustic charm with all the mod cons and interesting original artwork dotted around. The pool was divine and the three terraces meant we could take advantage of the beautiful views, glorious weather and magnificent sunsets. There were also outdoor blankets to keep the evening chill off and yoga mats for the yogis in our group too. So if you don't want to leave the villa then there's no real need to do so as it has everything you need for a safe and enjoyable stay. However, never leaving the villa is to miss a trick or two. The delights of Ronda are around a 10 minute drive away and what surprised all in our party was how safe we felt walking around the sights. Everyone, young and old, wear masks all the time and one of the only benefits of being in a pandemic was, we seemed to have seen the town at its best i.e. tourist free! What a fantastic holiday and one that will stay long in the memory for all the right reasons. Trust me, book it now, you won't be disappointed.

Andalucian perfection
Perfect retreat to relax and enjoy the Andalucian region. The house is perfection. There is plenty of space and all details have been thought through with consideration. We were there in January so were able to make use of the log burning fire. Owners are responsive and attentive without being intrusive. Bedrooms are all incredibly well equipped with gorgeous crisp bedding, hotel-style towels and robes. When we arrived a basket of provisions had been provided which was warmly welcomed. The grounds of the house are beautiful and peaceful, there are local farms which provide the morning soundtrack and Ronda is only a short drive. The handbook provided is the most complete guide I have ever seen, any question can be answered in that book including some wonderful recommendations. If we are ever back in the region (and the house is available) we would not think twice about booking. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Amazing stay
The most beautiful place to feel like home away from home. Everything in, and outside the house is perfect! It is also a wonderful spot to spend time with kids, there were lot of toys and the nature surroundings the property was exciting to visit for the toddlers (donkey, chicken, horses, etc.) Lucy, and Jon were easy to reach and Hilde was very nice to us. There is also a book in the house with recommendations which were very helpful to our family. We hope to be back again one day. Thank you !!

Unforgettable stay at El Olivar
We spent a week at Finca El Olivar in August 2019 and had an amazing time. The house is in a beautiful location, surrounded by stunning views. It is very quiet and relaxing, yet conveniently located only a 10 minute drive from Ronda. The house is beautifully designed, highly functional and in excellent condition. Three families (6 adults and 2 children who were part of our group) stayed very comfortably. The host is wonderful, very helpful and responsive. This place is absolutely beautiful and has been really wonderfully set up to feel special and homey. There are well-designed touches everywhere you look, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! The house is great, and yet I think the outdoor spaces might be even better. There are perfect little spaces all over the house to read, write, draw, and relax. The front porch with the morning sun falling through the trellis was my personal favorite. On top of it all, there is a really great personal guidebook of the area, that led us to some of our favorite things in Andalusia. Thank you for the wonderful place and a perfect experience!

Lucy is an amazing, thoughtful, detail oriented owner. The guidebook she has created includes hidden treasures, locations , recimmendations for fine food, experiences, activities. We hit every one of her Highly recommended restaurants in Ronda and Arriate. Truly spect liar culinary experiences. We found the house and the pool soo delightful we barely left the property. There is a huge porch which is covered from the sun which my husband and I read books, napped etc. our 3 kids (age14,12,8) loved the pool, ping pong table, sleeping in super late every day in the individually air conditioned rooms w top quality beds and linens. Hilde was available and engaged and help us w all sorts of needs and arrangements. Location is perfect as you are remote enough that you can't see a soul from the house so gave complete getaway and retreat. Hop in the car and you are in the heart of Ronda in15 minutes. We hope to be back next year for 2 weeks!
