A Peaceful Retreat
The Garden Suite was absolutely perfect and far surpassed my expectations. The host was a great communicator both before and during our stay. The room was exactly as pictured and described - beautiful, clean, peaceful and quiet. The small details really made it a top notch experience, food basics and dishes made a quick morning meal and coffee feasible. The town itself was very cute and had countless restaurants to choose from. I would definitely book this spot again!

Such a Wonderful Stay
I had such a great time in San Diego, due in part to having the opportunity to call this place home for a few days. Edith was a wonderful host and I look forward to going back to visit - I'll certainly stay here again!

An excellent place to stay
Charming, quiet, clean with all necessities plus extras such as fresh fruit. San Diego breezes blew in through the large windows cooling the room or if you wish a/c is available . Small table outside front door is private and perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks. Definitely an excellent place to stay.

Great for Business Trip!
I had a business trip that my husband came along for. This property provided everything that we needed. The mini fridge was large enough to hold the food we brought. The space was comfortable and tranquil. When we chose to eat out, we were in easy driving distance of great options. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to come back to explore the city even more.

Lovely, light-filled room
Nice property. The main room is wonderfully light and bright. Comes with off-street, free parking. Within close driving distance to downtown, La Jolla, beaches, etc. The property owner communicates quickly and is very responsive. We would stay there again.

Spotless, beautiful room; very gracious host
Spotless, beautiful room; very gracious host. Host has gone above and beyond by leaving out fresh fruit, breakfast snacks, and coffee & tea supplies. Located in extremely quiet neighborhood within walking distance of several restaurants. We really enjoyed our two night stay. One thing to be aware of, not necessarily a negative, but something that might bother some people: as the room is attached to a house, of course you will occasionally hear the family moving around and talking.

Wonderful place!
This is a wonderful place to stay. The amenities are amazing. From the high-end toiletries provided to the multiple snacks, including fresh fruit, fridge, toaster oven, microwave, utensils, etc., our friendly hostess has thought of everything! The neighborhood is beautiful too!

Great Time in San Diego, Thank You Edith
My wife and I stayed in Edith’s Garden Suite for 3 nights. The check-in was simple and the room was beautifully appointed, clean, and beautiful. The Suite had everything we needed and the location was perfect—Kensington area of San Diego. The Suite is within walking distance of downtown Kensington, which is quaint and has nice places to eat and shop. On-site parking was a plus. King bed was very comfortable. Comfort height toilet, Lacoste towels, walk-in shower were very nice. Throughout, Edith was very responsive and accommodating. She thought of everything to help us get up and running for our short trip to San Diego including providing initial supplies such as coffee pods, milk, creamer, fruit, snacks. Minutes away from the San Diego highway system provided easy access to attractions which was a bonus. Overall, a great stay.

What we like about it that it was the nicest place we have stayed in. what was unique was the cozy inviting neighborhood it was in. What we didn't like was the limited channels on T.V.

Wonderful Weekend at the Garden Suite!
Friend’s wedding had brought my wife and myself to San Diego for the weekend. Wedding was in Mission Beach, a quick 15 min. drive from the Suite. Upon arrival, found the suite to be spotlessly clean, just like pictured on the website — and in the spirit of ‘sometimes its the little things’ that can add a special touch — we were pleasantly surprised to find drinks in the fridge incl. a bottle of wine, qt. of milk, some La Croix flavored waters, as well as snacks and fruits that were complimentary. Very much appreciated. As this was a particularly hot weekend by San Diego standards, Edith our hostess was kind enough to offer to turn on the central A/C to the suite, importantly, without us asking. Would’ve been fine without —nights cool in SD but again, much appreciated. The ‘village’ of Kensington is a short 0.5 mi. walk away through a beautifully manicured neighborhood, where we found wonderful cafes and restaurants. It is clear that this is an area of San Diego the residents take great pride in keeping up. Safe, clean, and felt fortunate to have the opportunity to be there. Re: Edith our hostess, very good communication both before and during our stay. Any question we had, she responded same day, usually within a half hour. She had great recommendations re: restaurants in Kensington and was gracious in writing a thorough reply containing specifics, a la “A couple of spots popular with the locals are...”. As the suite is attached to a home, there is always understandable concern about privacy. Again, nothing to worry about there. Guests will be pleased to hear there is total privacy with no disturbance from residents — didn’t even know if they were there — and home is located in a very quiet neighborhood. Would add it’s very nice to have the whole driveway to park, which Edith dedicates exclusively to guests’ use. Another nice touch. The suite itself is beautifully decorated with Edith’s creative touch. There is a microwave, small fridge, plenty of closet space, complete bathroom, nice television with cable, Netflix et. al, bottled water, and bowls, plates, flatware and glasses for guest use and the bed was quite comfortable. In closing, I would like to extend to Edith our sincerest thanks for a wonderful weekend and stay, and to our fellow travelers out there, our highest recommendation of the Garden Suite in Kensington for your next San Diego stay. You will not be disappointed!

Exquisite Garden Suite! Exactly as pictured on listing. Immaculate and comfy. Gorgeous neighborhood. So many extras: cold cereal choices (with milk provided!) instant oatmeal, energy bars, fresh fruit--everything you would need for your breakfast. Nice little garden area for reading and relaxing. Thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary stay, which Edith made so special!

Great Getaway Spot!
Perfect place to stay for a San Diego trip! Central location in a super nice neighborhood, walking distance to some great bars and restaurants. Edith was super polite and helpful throughout the booking process, and the suite was very clean & tidy. A nice bonus was a nice assortment snacks & fresh fruit provided in the room.
