Bad overall stay
The sheets on the pullout couch smelled like body order as did the towels even though they looked clean. The "shampoo/conditioner/bath soap" container had previously been broken off the wall and were just sitting on a ledge. It accidentally fell causing shampoo to spill all over the tub causing a slippery/dangerous situation. I was under the assumption we had the entire place, but when walking in the front door, there were "no entry" signs on the stairs, so we had one floor only. The pictures of the gardens looked lush though when there, they were unkept and not a place you would want to spend any time, especially since there were several broken down appliances under the stairs and deck. I would not stay here again.

Sisters visit SF for 70th
We had a wonderful time staying at Michael’s place. The location was perfect for our visit, and the place is filled with fascinating furniture and paintings. I felt I was at my great aunt’s place. Michael is a generous and responsive host. Enjoy.

Great Victorian style lodgings close to Golden Gate Park museums and attractions. Spacious accommodations, well supplied with kitchen and bathroom amenities. Though it was street parking, we had no trouble finding parking. Would stay again!

Inner Sunset San Francisco
The location of this house is perfect, near Irving street restaurants, easy access to the ocean view beach by Muni N train, walking distance to Golden Gate Park, with the highlights of the SF Botanical Garden and de Young Art Museum, hop on hop off stop and the park itself. Adults and teenager loved it.

Great place to stay in sf
This was a great place to stay for the holidays and work remotely from in a great neighborhood in sf. The unit is more spacious that it appears in the photos and the deck is gorgeous. Kt took a while to get acquainted with the place when we arrived as the lenghty description was confusing. However, Michael was very responsive and supportive to all our inquiries during our stay. Will definitely stay again in the future

host cancelled our stay 2 days before agreed start
We have stayed at this property in the past and had booked a return visit. We had to cancel our November reservation due to COVID symptoms. The host agreed to rebooking dates. Two days before we were to come, he booked another person over our stay. This is unethical after he agreed to rebook. I requested a refund. I communicated to VRBO over 2 weeks ago and have not had a response. Unless this is resolved I will not use VRBO again.

Lovely experience
Lovely home located close to Golden Gate Park. Quiet and private. The kitchen is shared but the owners never came down when we were home. Bedroom and living room have separate door that lock for privacy. Owner was very accommodating as we arrived before check in and left after check out he allowed us to keep our luggage there while we toured the town. Extremely pleasant experience would definitely stay again.

Beautiful & Elegant Apartment
This property is beautiful! It was so relaxing and comfortable. For the people who complained about “the lack of privacy” between the two rooms, there are pocket doors that pull out of the walls separating the two rooms. The apartment is beautifully decorated. I would not recommend this property to parents of unruly children. Its also not a “party place.”It’s close to a market and transportation and a few blocks to an area with restaurants. I highly recommend this apartment to adults looking for a beautiful place to stay.

Beware, Not what it seems
Until we were checked in, we did not realize that this is not really a separate floor. It isn't even a bedroom. It is the downstairs living room/kitchen, inside of a space where other people are living, and very little separates you. Our first night, there were people arguing loudly in the upstairs area until about 11:30 at night. Even when the arguing stopped, someone was banging around until much later into the night. The space is very cramped, and the extra bed was not comfortable for my two sons. We decided to book a different lodging for the rest of our stay in San Francisco. The owner of the place would not refund our unused nights. They have a lawyer they are working with, so no surprise that the lawyer is advising they keep the money, since our payment was made already, and well, lawyers need to be paid. I would be wary of renting this place. Even if you are OK with the noise and no privacy, It is very cramped with old furniture, paintings, etc. If you accidentally break some sort of antique, their lawyers would be able to justify extreme costs to you. Please be careful.

This property is an older home located about 6 blocks from Golden Gate Park. It’s not very big, but it served our purposes. We had access to a fridge, range, microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer.

It is NOT Absolutely Private
We did enjoy this place after the first couple of nights. We were not expecting to be in the home with the owners without having a private entrance. They live upstairs (without a door) and you can hear them at times. They also keep there personal food in frig. We are not use to this so it did catch us off guard. We did get use to the idea of it after second night. They did not enter our area at all and sure they are wonderful people. It is just our personal thoughts. The place was VERY clean and we loved that!! We also loved the location! Thank you for sharing your home Michael.

Pleasant stay in SF
Enjoyed our stay on SF. The suite is clean and comfortable, the kitchen is new and clean and had all we needed for our stay. The hosts are supper sweet, The location has two markets close by to pick up anything that you might need. Also a couple blocks away from the tram. It’s SF so parking on the street can be a challenge if you have a car. Walking distance to the park. Park Gyros at 9th has great falafel if that’s your thing. Overall great stay.

Very frustrating!
Three weeks after we booked, I realized we needed only three nights instead of the original four-day reservation. That began many messages to the owner, Michael, and contacts via VRBO live chats and phone calls. They each said the other needed to change the dates and neither did. No matter what we tried we never did get a refund for the unused night. The place was clean and certainly unusual in its setup. You can lock a door to the bedroom and living room but the owner and cleaning person can freely enter the kitchen and bathroom. The owner is definitely experiencing health issues and there also is a language challenge (with us and with the VRBO person who tried talking with him while I was on hold). There are many pieces of papers with directions in the unit but it was extremely confusing. - three different ones on how and where to take care of the trash and recycling We finally gave up and left the trash sorted and in the unit with a note. The location was close to our friends' place but we'd never stay there again. We've not received a security deposit back nor a refund for the night we told hm we didn't need. I'd say look for an alternative spot!

INVADED MY PRIVACY
Got an 8:30 pm call from the property manager after our first night of staying there. He had been in our space that day while we were out and informed me that he was going to charge me for the bagels and milk that I took out of the refrigerator in our unit. He also informed me after going into my bathroom, that we would need more toilet paper and that I used the blow dryer in the bathroom!!! When I first saw the listing, I was impressed with AMENITIES EVERYTHING, sounded like we would have everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable!! NOT SO!!! He also stated in the listing that he would not come into our space, why would someone state that?!? Should have been a red flag!! He did in fact go directly into our space AND take inventory on “EVERYTHING” that we had used!! My family and I immediately left our family and friend gathering after that call at 8:30 pm, and literally moved out under the cover of darkness, we were fearful that he would continue to be confrontational!! Now, it’s 10pm and where to stay??? Thank God there was a cancellation about 3 blocks from our friends!! Had a fabulous time in San Francisco, but would stay away from this place!!!
