Our week stay at La Casa Blanca was comfortable and pleasant. The view from the balcony at night is gorgeous looking out over San Jose and pretty much the whole valley. We could watch the planes leaving and landing in Alajuela. The hot water heater worked extremely well, talking scalding temperatures within 20 minutes, so hot showers were quite pleasant. The owner and manager were extremely helpful in assisting us to arrange transport to our next destination, which was very helpful, because we don't speak Spanish well. Our only inconveniences would be the lack of laundry and dish soaps, tv, and an occasional odor coming from the sink drain in the kitchen (because of the way they often build in Costa Rica), but leaving the drain stops in and covered in water eliminated that issue. No cooking oils or spices were provided, left, and we did not anticipate that they would not be provided. So just as a heads up, bring the soaps, spices, and oils you will need. There are also no baking pans provided, so if you want to bake anything, bring your own pan, or aluminum foil? And lastly, the next door neighbor is busily building his home, so there was some unexpected noises and loud music coming from them, however, he did like some good music, and inside the home it was muffled pretty well. Internet was generally good, and the bus picks up just up the road, though we did not use it. Grecia is a nice little town. All and all a very nice clean comfortable home and stay, with a magnificent view. The damage deposit was returned to us without any hassles within a week, which was very relieving.
