Thanksgiving Week 2024
My husband & I met up in Santa Fe with his daughter and our four grandchildren (17-24) from San Diego, Santa Cruz, Portland, & Portales (NM). Rass Mandal was ideal for our group of seven, there was plenty of space to congregate and for privacy. Lots of rooms filled with collectibles from the owner's world travels, it's ecclectic & fun. The views are spectacular during the day and we enjoyed nighttime star-gazing from the "balcony" aka rooftop terrace. A couple of us saw shooting stars! The hot tub was perfect on a chilly morning or evening. We were treated to a visit from a buck and four mule deer on the property one morning. Lucky to notice them through the windows inside the home! We all delighted in 2" of snow overnight before Thanksgiving Day, it made for a scenic holiday. We created a fabulous feast in the kitchen and shared a memorable celebration at the grand dining room table. Everyone had a great time! Thank you, Richard, for opening your home so others can enjoy it. I highly recommend Rass Mandal for an unforgettable getaway.

Unique and wonderful place
Sets a very high bar for any vacation rental we might do in the future! What kind of place has so much unique, beautiful art throughout the house and property? Additionally the rooms, beds, baths, sauna, pool, grounds, kitchen, everything was very well cared for, clean, and comfortable. We had a great time, this was the perfect choice for our group of 5 staying a few days in Santa Fe.

Early Fall at Rass Mandal
Our family gathering in early October at Rass Mandal was a wonderful experience. Everyone in our group enjoyed the stay. The weather was perfect. The house is spectacular. The pool, hot tub and sauna were so nice. Santa Fe is a lovely, historic southwest town with so much to offer and Rass Mandal is a great place to stay while exploring. Richard, the host is very welcoming and accommodating. He is available at all times, communicates exceeding well but does not step in when not needed. Nothing but praise for this facility and its management. We would gladly return.

Fantastic Getaway
The house is filled with adventure…every room is different and unique. Gorgeous views from the deck and pool areas makes it a vacation in itself. I brought 7 ladies from across the country for a business event. They were impressed with all the details and comfort the house provided. Highly recommend!!! The owner was amazing as well!

Interesting, fun and unique property
Kitchen well equipped. Trip to town very manageable and well worth it for the peaceful atmosphere at the house. We are a three generation family of 11 and it worked great. Owner is friendly and helpful.

Our family came in from Portland Oregon, San Diego, Boston and Pennsylvania. Everyone loved the house, pool, weather and all the many things we could do in the surrounding area. Richard was a very responsive host and quite friendly and helpful.

Rass Mandal is a special place
If you seek staying in a unique museum-like property Rass Mandal is the perfect place for you. We spent 10 days with our children and grandchildren ages 10, 14, 16, and 18 and enjoyed every minute. The kids especially liked the pool and hot tub. The house is immaculate and large enough for everyone to spread out. Since there were 9 of us, eating out was challenging but the well appointed kitchen made it a delight to prepare gourmet meals for the family. The dining room had ample space for all to be together; when we wanted to be. The outdoor property is expansive offering short and long hikes, birdwatching and expansive views. The owner is readily available to answer questions or help with needs you might have. Rass Mandel is the perfect place to make lasting memories. It is a special place and surpassed our expectations.

An Experience My Family Will Never Forget
We wanted to find a special place to celebrate our 60th anniversary, my 85th birthday and my wife's 81st with our family of eight. We chose Rass Mandal based on its web site and VRBO reviews. It was perfect in every respect! The first day we just marveled at its beauty and amenities. By the second day Rass Mandal became one with us; its ambiance and inspiration influencing our thinking and decisions every day. Our host, Richard, was cordial, informative and helpful - and left us alone to just enjoy the experience. Rass Mandal is truly a magical place that left an impression we will never forget. Family Reunion at Rass Mandal

5th Anniversary of College BOA's
We had six couples, total 12 people stay three nights for a wonderful get together. Rass Mandal is unique and the owner/caretaker is fantastic and has great stories and history to share pertaining to the property. I highly recommend this place!

Oasis - Did you see the photos?
A group of 10 women coming from various locations across the country gathered for a larger retreat and found out once at Rass Mandal - we arrived at our own private retreat. This place not only has an amazing story, but was built with the feminine "energy" in mind. RM is filled with gorgeous art, sensuous colors and lines of furniture. When I arrived I quickly stated, "my goal is to not sit in the same seat twice". And I did a good job, still not trying all of them! Everywhere you see you see a new story in front of you. I had no need to go anywhere else - this is luxury and home sweet home all in one... with a dash of another (mystical if you will) world. Richard is a rock star - I'd stay at any of his properties (managed by him). Cheers

50th Wedding Anniversary
Rass Mandal is the most unique, mystical, magical, lovely, strange, curious, enchanted…I could go on and on with adjectives but suffice to say, this place is like no other. Our family of 8 adults, 3 grandchildren (including and infant) were absorbed into the property and enjoyed all the nooks and crannies, pools and hot tub, decks, umbrellas, bird watching, trails, paintings, bubble baths…again I could go on and on. Richard met us at arrival, gave us the tour and said “it’s your house”. Everything needed and more was provided including an infant pack ‘n play, high chair, pool floats…again on and on. We had Chef Elizabeth Harley prepare our anniversary dinner and she had everything needed for a 5 course dinner at the large dining table that accommodated everyone. And when I say everything needed and more, I mean even down to ornate napkin rings! Richard asked if there was anything that would make the stay more comfortable. The only thing I could add is: it was July, every day during our visit there was a NWS extreme heat advisory, so blinds or exotic coverings on a few skylights would help in the afternoon heat. Nit picking. Overall, it was amazing to be given Rass Mandal for 4 days in July to celebrate our anniversary and celebrate we did. If you are fortunate enough to visit Santa Fe, you will not find a more unique, mystical, magical…well, you get the picture. You’ll be glad you did!

Perfect for an extended family gathering
This was a great location for us to bring together four families for a week long vacation. With a large family, space for each to do their own thing was a necessity. Rass Mandal was great for this with the short walks around the property, the yoga pavilion, pool and all the unique nooks in the residence to explore.

Rass Mandal - Weekend Retreat
The Rass Mandal house is a fantastic place to spend quality time with your friends. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our time both inside the house and hiking in the nearby mountain trails. The photos and description of the house matched perfectly with what we experienced in person. The pool, sauna, and hot tub are well maintained providing a really nice luxury for everyone to enjoy. The host of the house does an incredible job communicating about the house, amenities, check in and check out, and any additional services you may want to take advantage of. We had a chef come to the house and cook dinner for us one evening and the kitchen and dining room were great spaces to host such an event. I highly recommend staying at the Rass Mandal house if you are in the Santa Fe area. My friends and I didn't take advantage of the yoga pavilion, but for those interested, it is an amazing space and amenity to the overall grounds of the house.

More than expected
Wonderful time at Rass Mandal. A fantastic property, great views, great location, so much to see. Listing and description are accurate, with wonderful outdoor spaces. Wish it was pool season-we may book in summer to fully enjoy pool and deck and firepit and venture onto the roof! Richard is great host and available to assist if need. Place was extremely well stocked, kitchen had more than needed, Perfect for cooking our thanksgiving meal. Fireplace in living room was great and I now want a fireplace in my kitchen like there is here!! Our family of 8 had plenty of space and enjoyed our stay at Rass Mandal, thank you!

Perfect Retreat Option!
We had a group of eight different business owners stay Rass Mandal for three nights. The grounds and home are perfect for a large gathering, even if it did surprisingly snow about 6" during our stay. We have been going on retreats all over the country every year since 2014 and this was one of the highest rated locations to date. Richard was great on his communication on everything from the check-in process to what to expect with the road conditions. I would recommend Rass Mandal to anyone and look forward to visiting again at a different time of the year to take advantage of the grounds and pool. If you are looking to unplug while still being connected this is the spot for you! Thanks again for the hospitality!!!

AMAZING
We rented the house to celebrate my daughters 30th birthday. Staying at Rass Mandal made it that much more special. The house, the property and views are amazing. I never thought staying in a house could be so much fun! Every room in this house is a experience of its own. We all literally loved just being at the house and and didn’t want to leave to go out.
