Sometimes, not often, but sometimes, everything you want, need and hope for comes together in one package. In a nutshell, that’s how I would describe 30 Tetilla Rd. in Santa Fe. Situated in the lovely, peaceful community of EL Dorado and surrounded with magnificent views of several mountain ranges, the house is as comfortable as it is beautiful. All the rooms are simply and tastefully furnished. Coming from NYC, it was amazing to have such a sumptuous size master bedroom with it’s own bath and walk in closet - no less. The whole house is perfectly appointed with a cooling system that keeps it at a comfortable temperature at all times. I love to cook so it was great to have such a workable kitchen with everything I needed. One of the greatest pleasures of living at the Horowitz house is just sitting on the back patio enjoying the expansive view or having dinner there as the sun goes down. Watching the weather change as the light moves across the mountains was often breathtaking as were the riotous displays of pinks, oranges and reds that were the sunsets. We also loved all the wonderful wild life like the family of Pronghorn Antelope that comes to graze on the grass and the hilarious Jackrabbits with ears that don’t stop. Occasionally a gorgeous Red Tailed Hawk would sail in, land on one of the Juniper Bushes and wait and watch, like the canny hunter that he is, for something to prey upon. We were spellbound each time. But it was the tiny iridescent miracles that are the Hummingbirds that stole our hearts. There were as many as a dozen at a time that visited our feeders during the day and into the evening. It’s truly a bird lover’s paradise with Thrashers, Kingbirds, Western Bluebirds, Scrub Jays and Quail. Needless to say, we miss it already and look forward to coming back as soon as we can. Oh yes, let me not forget to mention that there's a caretaker named Gary who's always available to help and is an absolute gem!
