Very lovely property , 2 bedrooms, one next to large birdcage and birds wake up early, property as described, wonderful infinity pool which allows for laps, wonderful acreage and privacy around property, including its own waterfall, Terry is lovely and full of helpful and accurate information,Dominical is a great little town with number of varied restaurants and large new supermarket, there is definitely a very large hill to get to the property and Terrys telling you in her notice that you need ac4 x4 should not be taken lightly - do it. We saw a sloth and toucans on her property, the dogs were nice, the view from the kitchen/ lr wonderful. Can’t think of anything else to say at the moment.

Paradise with a Twist!!!
This place has a million dollar view - you will not be disappointed. You will definately need a 4x4 wheel drive to get to the location. The road is dirt and mud and VERY difficult to traverse. It is an E-Ticket ride to the property but trust me, IT IS worth it. The property is beauty beyond belief! The private infinity pool, with this million dollar view, will make you never want to leave. The upstairs home is extremely nice with lots of views and unusual things for you to enjoy. Your host Mizz Terry lives downstairs but is better than any tour guide you could have. She is there to help you, guide you or just leave you alone if you wish. The price for this VrBO is 1/2 what other places are charging - and it's totally worth it. If you book it - tell her Randy sent you!!! PURDA VIDA!!!!

Spring Break in Dominical
We recently stayed in Dominical. It’s one of our favorite places in Costa Rica. Our rental was great. Working with the host was easy. She was responsive, helpful, and had plenty of insights for recommendations in the area. The view and pool were as advertised, terrific. The upstairs of the home is the rental and it is spacious with two separate bed rooms, huge kitchen dining living area with covered out side lounge barbecue area and great views. It is a bit of a treck up the mountain from the main road about 15 minn. We surfed several different locations, visited local swimming holes with waterfalls, hung out at different beaches took the kids zip lining and horseback riding ate great food. Everything was within 20 to 45 minn from the house. Pura Vida

Beautiful, spacious and great host
Terry is amazing and has all that you will need to ensure a great trip. She has locations that you "must" and "should" visit all prepared for you. Also, listen when she tells you that you need a 4X4 :) The house is gorgeous located in an amazing and beautiful jungle with all sorts of wildlife...that said it can get really loud especially early in the morning when the wildlife wakes up the jungle (we found it delightful). We went at a very hot time of the season (Mid March 2024) and yes it was very hot so we were happy to jump in the pool daily for a cool down as the air was not operational...there was a great rain storm our last night in the villa that cooled the whole area down and that was a welcome and needed downpour... Again thanks to Terry for being a great host and setting up our fishing tour :) Pura Vida

Little piece of paradise
It’s one of the most incredible places you could possibly stay at. Views were fantastic of the ocean from the pool areas. Private short hiking trail. Terry is such a joy to visit with and was so helpful with ideas for excursions. Birds galore.

Décevant!
Les bons points : l'hôte a été d'une grande aide pendant notre séjour : conseils, prêts de planches pour aller dans les vagues et des chaises pour la plage. La piscine est magnifique et offre une vue imprenable sur l'océan et la jungle. Les mauvais points : les informations sont érronées pour la plupart. Je ne rentrerai pas dans tous les détails. Rien n'est proche. 12 minutes de gravel en partant pour rejoindre une route asphaltée. La première plage est à 25 minutes en voiture. Pas de restaurants accessibles à pieds. L'aéroport est à environ 4h selon le trafic. On ne parle pas de luxe, ni de grand standing. La propreté laisse à désirer. Pas d'air climatisé. Des ventilateurs qui fonctionnent mal. Des chiens qui aboient et une volière de perruches collée à la maison et à ma chambre. Réveil assuré aux petites heures de l'aube... très décevant!

Missing It Already!!
Beautiful location, we come from the mountains and loved staying in the mountains. Mizz Terry, the owner lives downstairs and was very respectful of our privacy. Even though Terry lives downstairs closest to the pool, we always had the pool to ourselves and felt right at home. Of course the bonus for us was getting to know Terry and her furry friends was a real joy. We loved our stay and hope to return in the future for a longer visit. We loved our experience. Our Home Away From Home
We were celebrating our 40th anniversary during our trip to Costa Rica. We have always liked our trips to include both adventure and relaxation. Villa Desiderata was the perfect spot for us. It is a quiet, clean, spacious, and calming retreat. The whole place made us feel at ease. Terry was very nice and easy to talk to. She was an excellent host and helped us get our bearings. Terry gave us superb recommendations on where to eat and beaches to see. We would definitely come again!

Gorgeous secluded location with great views and nice amenities
Desiderata is a lovely villa, with an upstairs apartment for rent. It is perched on a gorgeous ridge overlooking the Pacific ocean embraced by rainforest mountains. The dirt road to the villa is an adventure that requires a reliable 4x4 vehicle, you’ll get great directions. The infinity pool is delightful, just as in the photos, it is used only by the guests while renting, as well as the lovely covered terrace for outdoor dining, and gazebo. The views from all rooms are truly amazing! The villa is well supplied, with reliable high speed, work-friendly video-call internet. It’s not as clean as one might expect, but it’s comfortable, with king beds and pillows and roomy bathrooms. The owner is French Canadian and lives downstairs, she is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about Costa Rica, and is happy to help with directions and travel suggestions. Her 2 Aussie Blue pups are delightful, one of her cats may sneak upstairs briefly, but they stay mostly downstairs. There is a large aviary on the way upstairs, facing both outdoor terraces, with budgies ensuring an early start to your day. They add to the tropical feel of the place. The grounds are lovely with lots of bushes in bloom. We saw toucans, monkeys, hummingbirds, flocks of parrots and cranes, white headed hawks and turkeys. Overall a great place to visit, a peaceful sanctuary close to Quepos, Uvita, Dominical and Parque Marino Ballena. Thanks Terry, we really enjoyed our stay and will recommend Desiderata to others traveling to CR! Take care!

Incredible stay
Terry lives on the property and allows as much interaction as her guests want. We left feeling like family. She gave great suggestions for places to go and things to do. She even arranged a fishing trip with a local fisherman. We were able to bring home a feast which we prepared and enjoyed with our hostess. Although we began with an interesting drive to the place, we rapidly felt at home. The place had plenty of space with a wide open concept. The grounds made for a nice hike one day and we spent a day in the pool enjoying the incredible view. Dominical was a short drive away with Uvita just a bit further and we frequently went to both. We look forward to visiting CR again and whether we stay with Terry or find a place of our own, we will be sure to visit and keep in touch.

Wonderful Oasis
Our family of 5 stayed here over the holidays and had an amazing time! The views from the house were stunning, and we had everything we needed for our stay. I absolutely loved waking up in the morning and enjoying coffee on the deck while the kids played in the pool. Terry was a kind and wonderful host and had great recommendations for beaches to visit or other activities to do in the area. She pointed out toucans and other wildlife to our kids, and they loved exploring the beautiful gardens on her property. This trip was our first international trip as a family, and Terry definitely made it a memorable one!!! We definitely plan on staying here again in the future!

Disappointed
The property does have a wonderful view but we were unable to properly enjoy it. We had very limited access to the pool/pool area and always felt like we were intruding. We have never had an issue with any previous VRBO rentals. This rental was not cleaned properly we found debris under the beds, a used luffa hanging in the shower, a broken fan in the master bedroom and dirty rugs in the kitchen. The owner has 2 new puppies that do bark at pretty much all hours and there was construction in a new deck going on during our stay. I am sure the owner will have an excuse or rebuttal because she was argumentative during our stay.

Wonderful host, amazing view, everything you need!
Terry was truly a wonderful host and made our stay so comfortable in Costa Rica. She gave very helpful and clear instructions on how to get right to the property. Excellent communication from the start which made all the difference! Terry so graciously drew great maps and helped us find amazing waterfalls, wonderful restaurants, and fun things to do during our stay. My friends and I loved Terry's dog Mariah and her kittens, not to mention the wildlife around the house including all the birds. If you never even left her property you would be more than satisfied with your visit De Costa Rica. There's so many things to explore on her property let alone the beautiful pool to relax in. My only regret is that we didn't have more time to spend at the property because of doing so many other fun activities. The house is so complete with everything you could possibly need during your stay. We were able to cook a lot at the house so having every possible utensil,pan, container, you name it, was very helpful. You have everything at your fingertips and need not bring anything extra except maybe a pair of water shoes to wear around the pool. The beds were so comfortable and the living quarters were beautiful. I can't say enough good things about our stay with Terry. I feel like I have a friend in Costa Rica. I can't wait to bring my family back next time! We will for sure be staying at Terry's Place. Don't forget to check out one of the world's best swimming holes in Uvita, the town over from Terry's place.

Shangri-La!
The drive up the bumpy road is soon forgotten when you arrive at this piece of heaven. Exceeded our expectations. Surrounded by lush vegetation with a killer view down the coast line. We spent every late afternoon in the pool watching the sunset while toucans and parrots appeared. Terry was a superb host, offering insider tips about where to go, what to see. We definitely have a new very good friend and found it difficult to leave at the end of our stay. We cannot return soon enough.

The Most Beautiful Place. A Gem in Paradise
We could never have magined that we would be staying in Paradise! The Views of the ocean to the mountains were Breathtaking! The Top of the World is where we were. Terry made us feel like family and we were so Blessed that she shared her home with us! Birds, flowers, mountain breezes,breathtaking sunsets in the infinity pool every night were unforgettable! Fabulous location and hostess
This rental is the upstairs of an owner occupied property. Terry could not have been more helpful. Anything you need help with or want to know, she is there. If you want to keep to yourselves, she respects that as well. The pool is the perfect temp and a killer view. We had a fabulous time. A++++

Just reading the VRBO review wasn't enough to tell us that it was a 4x4 only accessible property.
I'm very happy with the property. VBRO and the owner never made me aware that; the owner lived in the property or that it was very distant and only 4x4 accessible. Not as many people would care for these non amenities and I didn't either.

Peaceful Naturalist Retreat Central Location Outstanding Location
The views and scenery of this location are great. We actually saw almost every bird and animal that we went to see in parks on Terry's property or on nearby walks. We spent a month and enjoyed everything from the surrounding jungle flora and fauna to the epic views of the coastline, outrageous sunsets, to star watching at night while floating in the pool. The fact that there are lots of parks, waterfalls, beaches and nearby towns all within an hours drive made this property a great base to explore from or come back to and chill out. One huge plus is the wealth of knowledge Terry supplied in terms of local knowledge about places to visit, where to shop, and much more that simplified and enhanced our stay.

Gorgeous Oasis
Terry is a fabulous host and her property is amazing. Plenty of room and adorable places to explore with magnificent views all around. The nearest town, Dominical was by far my favorite with excellent food options and shops, along with a gorgeous beach to explore.
