The Shed at Kentigern
We stayed two nights at the Kentigern Shed after spending a week at Kentigern. It is the cutest, most unique, comfortable and efficient rental we have ever seen. It’s not very big, but covers all needs and was such a relaxing place. You wake in the morning and see the sunrise without even having to get out of bed. The screened porch attached to the bedroom is spacious and has very comfortable furniture. The perfect place to sit and read if you’d rather not go outside or have cocktails and snacks in the evening.
The kitchenette has everything needed, including a microwave, toaster and coffee pot. The chairs in the living room are very comfortable. It is difficult to explain the shower/bathroom area, but believe me…it’s efficient! There is a little “two-seater deck” off the main room which is another great place to read, have your morning coffee or have your afternoon cocktail. Great place for a couple to relax and unwind. We will be going back ASAP.
Kentigern
When we arrived at Kentigern we were immediately in awe and in love. The house, the views, the beach…who could ask for more? We chose this particular rental as it has an elevator and I have a brother who has Parkinson’s. And we cook most of the time so the kitchen was great. Has plenty of room for several people to work together and a fridge that held food for a week. And the comfy sofas in the main area were wonderful. Great for a nap and my husband slept on one all night because it was so comfortable he never woke up after falling asleep watching TV! And a private bath for each bedroom. Again I say, who could ask for more? We did have a few minor issues, but these were addressed immediately by friendly, helpful staff. The large decks on each floor made it very easy to be in the sun or shade if you just want to hang out at the house. To get to the beach is a short walk; not even a “block” from the house. There are kayaks, bikes, life jackets and helmets. Most other places we’ve been you have to drive somewhere to pick these things up and PAY FOR THEM. So, you wake in the morning looking out at the water; you eat breakfast and drink your coffee in the kitchen…looking out at the water; then you have lunch on the screened porch…looking out at the water. After family left, my husband and I didn’t want to leave, so we moved to the “shed” next door and stayed two more days. We'll be back as soon as we can, but definitely for a week next summer!
