We spent a relaxing week at this property. The location & views were amazing. This summer's intense heat dome was in full force during our stay, but the house was clean & comfortable, while the a/c was icy cold in response to 100+ degree temperatures! While I spent my time indoors or on the shady back porch, both my husband & 14-year-old grandson tackled fishing & kayaking. We didn't catch any fish but hope to return when the weather is cooler.
Jill was a responsive host & answered my questions promptly. She kindly gave us a late checkout.
TIPS: Be aware this area is quite remote & the nearest "big" grocery store (Brookshire Brothers) is approximately 20 miles away in Center, TX. I'd recommend bringing food & supplies with you or making a grocery run on your way to the home. If you forget anything, "Trail's End" is a small convenience store just minutes away & their country-style restaurant was very reasonable & good. They even serve made-to-order Hunt's Pizza for a quick snack. If you drive to Center for groceries, be sure to try TCS Bistro for a leisurely lunch or dinner.
I wanted to address a previous review stating that the location was a "trailer park setting.” While many nearby homes are "trailers" or mobile homes, we felt very safe & the neighbors were welcoming & friendly. Many of these homes appeared to be "weekend getaways" & were well cared for. You'll see why people love this area out on the bay having a blast - fishing, boating, kayaking & riding jet skis!
