I brought my puppies to visit my son, and what better place to stay than a mountain cabin! I loved every moment of my stay in “Maxwell’s Mountain Retreat”! The Host & dog Max are usually nearby on the property, which covers a large area north of town. There is so much to see & do in the area, do your research and make a plan for fun!!
To all the folks out there who are “city-dwellers” and “suburban non-campers” considering renting this beautiful mountain retreat…please come prepared. Find a Boy Scout/Girl Scout or someone who is an avid outdoor camper, and ask what to expect. Your amazing Host has the big screen TV, satellite wi-fi, microwave, stove +oven, and running water inside, a BBQ grill & seating outside.
Required skills for cabin fun:
1. How to build a basic campfire outside! Please come equipped with your own fire-starter kit and firewood (or purchase it from your Host).
2. How to use a pellet stove inside! Even in the summer, temperatures can be chilly, so be prepared…no propane use!
3. The cabin has mountain-sourced well-water, which is different than city water. Be prepared! You might want to bring your own bottled water to drink, but the well-water is perfectly safe to drink, cook, and shower with.
4. Be prepared for outdoor activities: Backpack w/GPS, food, water, appropriate footwear, layered clothes, rain gear, jacket, and hat.
Come enjoy the peaceful life of this amazing mountain cabin, explore the natural beauty, fresh air, & sounds of silence.
