We stayed at the Royalton Chic for 6 nights this December and all in all, we were happy.
The photos of the resort are exact - the room, the pool, the property amenities all were exactly as we expected and very nice. The downfall for us was the food and at times the service - when we go to all-inclusive resorts we do not expect magnificent food but this really was very lackluster both the buffet and the restaurants. Drinks were ok, my husband was happy with his but I love frozen cocktails and there always seemed to be some type of struggle making them.
There are clearly some issues with staffing and organization in the specialty restaurants - we had to leave the Mediterranean restaurant because after 40 minutes no one had even acknowledged us beyond dropping off menus, others claimed to have waited 90 minutes for meals so whilst the buffet food was average, at least you are never waiting?
The staff are lovely and friendly, there clearly is just some more training or adjustments to schedules that need to be made. As another example, housekeeping will bang down your door at 8/9am and we weren't given a do not disturb sign to use (we sought one out on the second day!)
Antigua is a beautiful place and the resort is right on a private beach with gorgeous water, I just feel they need to work on some of the above mentioned things as this is NOT a cheap hotel so the expectation is a little higher.
