Truly a National Treasure
We rolled up in our Chevy hatchback to find an unassuming brick building, standing lonely as though left leaning once upon a larger building that kept it company. Now in place of its old adjoining vestige hung the portrait of a man, a man of many faces. His demure allure peacefully beckoning. Enter. His gaze fills your gaze, as eyes meet and aeons blink to think this is all for you. Let Nick Cage show you what rest and comfort really mean. In all seriousness this was a cool and unique space, lot more room than you think and full of character, well at least a lot of one character. If you’re not afraid of stairs to a loft and the piercing eyes of Nicholas staring into what’s left of your soul…then this is the place for you. I will certainly be returning with more people, if I ever happen to return to St.Louis. Host was also kind and answered their phone when called.

Fun and funky little place to stay. We really enjoyed our time there. The only negative I have is communication with the host was not what I would call good. However, I would definitely stay there again.

Solid property; needs better upkeep.Thermostat was weird. Electricity slowly stopped working during our stay. Tv remote worked, then didn't. Lights would work for a day, then not turn on the next day. Could use more clear instructions and updated info. Cool place tho, the design is great.

This stay was absolutely amazing, there is a definite slight obsession with Nicholas Cage. We loved it. Perfect size for all of us. I will absolutely book this again next year for the dirt nationals. The entire property was an eclectic vibe and we loved it all!

A unique and unforgettable stay
My initial thoughts on renting this property were a little sketchy after reading the reviews. I'm so glad I didn't let the Karen's run me off. When deciding to traveling to St Louis for a surprise getaway for a family of six I was nervous about finding the perfect and most affordable housing. This mini loft was the best price for my family's budget and I couldn't of asked for a better stay. Arriving in St. Louis around midnight I was concerned about the area but when we arrived there was an officer posted near by on watch, which settled my nerves. I brought tons of blankets thinking we are would freeze from reading the reviews. Only to arrive to a very clean and comfortable loft with space heaters and a very well functioning heating system. Fully equipped with an arcade machine for my 8-11 year old boys. An upstairs loft room for my preteen daughter to have her space and a Mr. Potato head play set that my two year old spent most of her time with. The kitchen was fully equipped and very clean it was perfect for a family of my size. Nothing was broken and I didn't not see a single bug. I never had to contact the host during our stay because everything we needed was already provided. The Nicholas Cage theme made this rental stand out from the others because my kids will never forget the time they stayed in the Nicholas Cage place. Thanks Jack for helping create these memories for my family.

perfect for Nic Cage fans
A lot more spacious than it first appears. The Nic Cage decor inside and out was fantastic - around every corner, more pictures of the greatest actor of our time. The arcade cabinet was a nice touch, even if the volume was a little loud. The property manager was very responsive and accommodating. I would absolutely recommend this place and stay here again.

A little cleanup both inside and out is in order. Very unique and fun decor. The TV remotes did not function but we were able to stream from our phones. Did not realize the access to the “loft” bedrooms was basically a glorified ladder. If you’re over 40, this is not for you.

What a fun place!
I won't ruin the fun of this place with to many details but definitely worth the stay. Roomy and definitily fun! My only request from the owner... kitchen towels, pot holders and a better can opener. Overall would definitely recomand definitely would stay again!

Funky Nick Cage House
It really is all about the Cage! Overall, the house is as described, but we found the cleanliness a bit to be desired. The bathroom is tiny, and the tub/shower needs some attention. The loft areas were fun and a smart way to add sleeping areas to such a small house. The basement bedroom was just something else. The astroturf carpeting and ivy walls were too much for us! lol! Our son thought it was pretty fun, though. Overall, I think the house could be some kind of funky fun and thriftingly trendy if some additional maintenance and heavy cleaning were put into the property.

ONLY 1 Star because I couldn’t leave ZERO
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. THIS PLACE MADE ME LITERALLY NEVER WANT TO USE VRBO AGAIN. THE HOST WOULD NOT REACH BACK OUT TO ME AFTER REACHING OUT FOR HELP. THE PROPERTY WAS DISGUSTING. THERE WAS DEAD BUGS, trash in drawers, under beds, water in floor, towels smelled awful. Used shower loofah in shower along with a ton of dirt and hair. In addition the washing machine was filled with mildewed towels and sheets. No expre blankets. & the place is crawling with spiders. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. I’ll be filing a dispute with my credit card company because it was AWFUL and we couldn’t even stay. HORRIBLE.

Poor communication and dirty
First off communication was very poor. A couple days before trip, has not heard anything so I contacted owner. He simply responded it was rented out before us. At 4:15, on day of check in, after not hearing from owner, I reached out. He told me there was an ac issue and that we could wait at another property or stay at another property. Then he messaged back that it was fixed. Upon arrival, we enter the house to it being 75*. There were portable units in the upstairs rooms but the main area was hot. I opened up the refrigerator and there was dried food in it along with stuff on the counter, hair hanging from the stairs, a Bobby pin on the floor, and numerous areas that had not appeared to have been vacuumed/ swept l. I could get past that! Figuring out sleeping arrangements, I pulled out the sofa sleeper to find a VERY stained and dirty mattress with a wadded up sheet. Between the sofa and sofa sleeper there were empty bottles and trash. I would not have been comfortable letting my dog sleep there let alone my children or myself. I booked us a hotel that ended up costing another $500. I let the owner know we were checking out and the reason so that he could lock the door. His response “indeed.” No apology, no compensation offer, nothing else!!! VERY disappointed in this property and would NOT recommend working with them!

Unique home
Overall, we loved this place! The location was great, 3 bedrooms for a great price! Nick Cage art was interesting!!!! The worst was the bathroom. The jacuzi walk in tub didn't have a door, so couldn't use it, which was fine. But the shower curtain didn't hit the lip of the tub, and it was impossible to keep the water IN the tub. The floor was a mess after showers, and I think water was soaking in through cracks in the tile- the floor was squishy. cleaning supplies for the kitchen- dishwasher detergent, cleaning rags or sponges would have been nice. Hopefully the bath can be fixed! We would definitely stay here again!

Granola and bugs :(
As much as we love the idea of a Nic Cage theme, this property was not cleaned well at all. We tried to ignore the reviews and give it a chance because of how much we love a good joke, but I wouldn’t make the same mistake we did. When we first got there, there was a half eaten granola bar on the floor laying next to the couch. Most of the lights in the bathroom didn’t work, but the few that did showed pubic hair on the floor, and a poorly cleaned toilet. Right outside the bathroom, we were greeted with some unwanted visitors. Multiple bugs and a cockroach. The most egregious part of the stay was the lack of commitment to the Nicolas Cage theme. If you’re going to have a funny joke theme, then I’m expecting every nook and cranny to be filled with references. When looking through the DVDs we didn’t find any Nic Cage DVDs, not even National Treasure. This place would’ve been a great stay if it wasn’t so gross inside. Good idea, poor execution.
