This was the cheapest VRBO listing in Stamford, CT. My wife and I were staying for a week and didn’t want to spend a fortune so after a quick look at the photos and research of the area, we booked. This is an old house (circa 1930’s) and has been broken up to create multiple apartments. The pictures are very accurate so please look closely before you book. Here are the issues: 1) To get to the bathroom from the bedroom, you must go through the extremely narrow living room (see pics), up 4 stairs and through the kitchen. Not good for 2-3 toilet trips per night in the dark; 2) No central air conditioning-only a window unit in the bedroom. Not unusual for an older New England home, just leave windows open, right? However, multiple holes in kitchen window screen were concerning especially when we noticed multiple webs above that window. 3) Host is responsive but also very defensive, dismissive and over talked us when we tried to express our disappointment. We didn’t stay one night, losing our money paid. We booked a week at a local upscale hotel, which actually cost about the same overall after you add in the VRBO host’s separate fees and damage insurance. Bottom line: if you aren’t too picky, want to save money and none of these issues bother you, then this is the place for you. Quiet safe neighborhood and plentiful free parking adjacent to the property. However, this property did not meet our minimal standards and we had to go. Just be aware.
