I would describe the cottage as a rough diamond. We absolutely loved the location amongst the trees and hearing the birds in the morning - it was so tranquil and beautiful. We loved the charm and rustic nature of the place, and the newly renovated bathroom with the sky light. So many lovely places around the property to sit and enjoy. The Stanley pub is a must and we did some local walks too which were great (don’t forget your hiking shoes like us!). In terms of the rough edges - we had a few issues on arrival that got resolved by the lovely host. The washing machine wasn’t clean and so we didn’t use it and improvements could be made overall to the cleanliness of the place (e,g cleaning around furniture, tidying away some of the things). Some crisp white sheets/bedding would make such a big difference. Kitchen was nice but missing a few basic cooking essentials; e.g cooking oil and better than basic coffee making. For the price point (and noting we are a couple), it was expensive given the basic facilities when comparing to other places we’ve stayed. This place might be better suited to a family or several couples. With its beauty, we would still very much recommend!!
