WOW!! The Sawtooths at their best is not adequate to describe the week we stayed in Custer County at this property. Serene, solitude, breathtaking, ideal, awe-inspiring... just a few adjectives that we used during our stay in this wonderful "cabin" in Custer County. With Stanley a few minutes drive away, it felt like we were alone with nature on this property. All the modern amenities were available, everything to cook with, do laundry, do nothing, play cards or just soak up the environment from the multiple porches of this property. We were visited by a herd of elk one evening, awakened by the mellow mooing of cattle (if you opened your bedroom window), listened to the gentle winds through the Aspens and Pines and also had a nap or two in the afternoon in the quietness of our cabin. The 3 large front windows framed the Sawtooths perfectly and pictures do not do it justice. The cabin was a perfect jumping off spot, away from everyone, to go fly fishing, hike multiple trails, visit Stanley Lake and Redfish Lake, have meals in Stanley or just drive around and find "our secret spots" to enjoy to ourselves. Lisa was always available for a short conversation to help guide in any way possible. This was a 50 year reunion of Idaho for three great friends who have been traveling together for many years. This was a unanimous choice for "best trip" and "best accomodations" in all those years. The beds were comfortable, water was hot, propane tanks were full and all we had to do was enjoy our trip. And the fishing trip from White Cloud in Stanley was remarkable. Caught plenty of rainbow, cutthroat, bull trout and ran 3 rapids! What more could you expect. If you don't enjoy yourself here, there is something wrong. We were close to town, nature, forests and fauna ( even saw a mountain goat) and had plenty of time to enjoy it all and still unwind. Highly recommend, especially if you want to get out in nature.....it's out your frontdoor. Kudos, LIsa!!!
