The house is new and VERY clean, exactly as pictured. It also seems well-insulated; we didn’t feel outside temperature changes at all. Paper products, hand soaps, and detergents were all provided, which was a great convenience. Furniture and beds were very comfortable, and the tankless water heater meant we never ran out of hot water. We had to be cautious of sudden changes in temperature while showering. There is a dresser/chest of drawers only in the master bedroom, so the other couple were unable to unpack suitcases for our 8-night stay. A good supply of dishes meant we didn’t have to wash after every meal. There is neither a microwave nor a teakettle, so heating water for tea and hot chocolate had to be done in a pan. Ample parking on a level lot is provided, even though the house is surrounded by trees—we even had deer in the parking area. The “water view”, however, is blocked by those trees unless you hike down the hill to the shore. Only one member of our group of seniors made it down to the shore, and she recommended that the rest of us not attempt it. We were disappointed, because we were hoping to enjoy the view of the water from the deck. No trash cans in the bedrooms, no towel storage or robe hooks in the bathrooms, and no place to hang coats near the entryway, in addition to the other things I’ve mentioned, kept this from being a 5-star rental in our opinion. The cleanliness, comfort, and quiet certainly earned it a high ranking.
