The cabin was exactly as shown in the pictures. The location is perfect and the view is gorgeous. The trees make it seem very private and the bonfire area is great.
Everything you need is supplied, other than spray cooking oil if you want that, and a whisk. The BBQ is good quality and we used it a lot.
The air conditioning is very nice and I loved having a dishwasher. The beds were very comfortable and the cabin is laid out well. We had eight people and it felt roomy with lots of area to spread out.
My young girls were thrilled there were dress up clothes and toys for them. There are lots of board games, etc for the whole family.
We spent a lot of time on the water. There is a waterfall close by, only a few cabins to the left, which was a favorite spot. We did swim, but because we were there in June it was still a bit cool, but no issues. The cove is definitely the warmest area to swim.
Since the cabin is in the cove you can be on the water even when it is windy. If you want to go out further, then you have to pay attention since the waves are bigger once you get out into the open. We all agreed being in the cove was a huge advantage so we had more days on the water. The paddle boards and peddle boat provided were used everyday and we also took along our kayaks. You can take boats out and the boat launch is very close to the cabin.
We did have the best luck fishing, but we know it can be a great place for that. We caught some, but none that we kept.
Everyone we met in the area was very nice. The neighbor and the person you talk to if there are issues is the owners Dad. They have a cabin right beside the rental. He is fabulous and is extremely kind.
The cabin is easy to get to off the highway. Look for the flags and take the first left after that.
For quick supplies go to Trappers. Turn right once you are back on the highway, which has fuel and all the basics for food you need from a small store. If you turn left once you are the highway there is Tall Timber (turn off at the big shed and go left on the gravel down to the marina) which is mostly a liquor store, but also has items such as milk, pizza, bread, popcorn and bug spray. There are play structures there for the kids to play on.
There is lots to do in the area, but I highly recommend the old Pinawa Dam. Also, at Pinawa is Hoopla Island, a water park for the kids, and a beach. We did lots of hiking and biking. It is a beautiful area.
