A bit tricky to get to when u arrive in town (can’t go by GPS, but Terry the owner will walk you through) but wow! Such a nice hidden gem of a spot! Very private (and even more so being there off season) This was our very first time staying in the area and it was scenic and beautiful. It was nice not having he crowd, however lots of things were either closed for season or only opened on weekends/limited hours so that was a bit of a disappointment. The 2 nights we were there we couldn’t find many restaurants open for lunch or dinner. One night we just ended up picking up cheese and sweet corn to make grilled cheese sandwiches at the cabin lol (the corn was the best I’ve had all season!)
You may to need to bring your own drinking water and/or ice (they do have trays to make ice if need be too) because the tap water is not drinkable (stinky well water), your own soap, and shampoo/conditioner, but other than that everything was great…lots of condiments, etc for use. The private walk out to beach is awesome…. could view sunset directly out large back windows/deck. My favorite part was all the birds I was able to watch/take pictures of right out the back door. Nuthatches, Woodpeckers, Hummingbirds, and a Baltimore Oriole passing thru (thanks to the neighbors feeders 😊) not to mention the Seagulls, Geese, Ducks, Herons, and Pelicans in/by the lake. There is also a nature preserve as you drive in on the property that we saw a bunch of Eagles and other birds. Would definitely come back!
