"We very much enjoyed the Sassafras’s cabin! Clean, well appointed with dishes, pans etc. they even provided coffee. Centrally located in the Shawnee Natl Forest, we were only 8 minutes away from great hiking, The Garden of the Gods and more. While there are other cabins nearby there was plenty of privacy. Very quiet place to enjoy a fire pit and decompress. We will absolutely be back for another stay. "

"My family wanted a quiet place in the garden of the gods for our familys Girls Birthday Retreat(mother me and daughter all within a week). This place is like home away from home plus some. "My husband and I took our 3 sons ( 22 years old and twins that are 19). The cabin was perfect! It was very hot outside while we were there ( between 92-95 degrees every day but the AC kept up great and I was thankful for that! They have put a lot of wonderful touches and finishes on this cabin. It was very clean and comfortable. We loved the son porch that overlooked the river. We also loved the fire pit in the evenings. The cabin was even better in person than in photos. The mercantile store...

"Very enjoyable stay ... perfect size for my husband and I ... everything we needed. We spent a lot of time on the cute front porch enjoying nature from our seat on the glider. LOVED the swing hanging from the oak tree branch (took me back to my childhood). The neighborhood cat came over for a visit. My husband saw a hummingbird every morning.
