"This was a great stay between Strahan and Hobart and close to the Mt Field National Park, where we did Russell and Horseshoe falls. The accomodation was clean and very comfortable. It was great to look over the fields where the alpacas lived to the mountains. The accommodation had everything we needed to be comfortable and we were instructed on what was available food wise before we came, as there are not many options once you get to Maydena. Highly recommend this place to stay."

We thought if we had been tourists staying in the Huon we would have expected some lovely local produce. Instead it was just Coles brand items. "Great spot at the door step to Mt Feild. Very few places this close to Tasmanian wilderness at your front door with all the comforts of home. Excellent cafe called Fika nearby at Maydena. Worth the short drive for morning or afternoon tea or a great lunch. Highly recommend."

"The host was very welcoming and explained everything to us as we were guided to our accomodation. What a lovely surprise, a deck to view the rolling hills and river from, step inside this 1840 exquisite building and first thing that greets you is a cask of port with enough in it for 6 tipples sitting on that lovely deck (which also has a bbq btw). The bed was amazingly comfortable and the area is very peaceful. The host also suppies the many books he has written and published and he has copies...

"This lovely clean home was a great base for exploring Mount Field National Park and also the Maydena Bike park is next door. Great as a family/ group stay. Everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. As a couple we just closed off the other 3 rooms and it felt cosy. Very warm with lots of heating options. "Amazing, we stayed 2 nights. Loved the cabin, especially the outdoor bath. Had a few furry friends come visit too. Fire place kept us warm as it was a bit chilly at night. Only thing I would recommend is to have 2 sets of towels as it was a bit hard to get them dry after use. "
