This appears to be an older home which has been updated. It is in a beautiful area with lovely homes around it. The owner is great at communicating. Very prompt in responding.
The kitchen is along one wall of the great room and the appliances are new. The bedrooms are at opposite ends of the great room and each has its own bath. The queen bedroom has a large bathroom with a washer/dryer, and the bunk bed room is small with a very small bathroom. The driveway is quite steep because the house sits at the bottom of a hill. The advantage of this is that the slope to the lake is much easier.
The house sits at the end of a cove of the lake. The water there is very quiet and usually glassy-calm. We had 2 fishermen in our group and they both had a great time and caught a good amount of fish. One day, they went over to Lake Norman with a guide, and did well, but usually they just fished off the dock. This must be a hot fishing spot because we frequently saw boats close to our dock, casting toward shore.
We rented a pontoon boat for a few hours from Lakeside Marina and enjoyed riding around on the lake. It is really a beautiful lake. I would recommend that.
We did run into a few maintenance issues with the house, but as I mentioned, the owner is prompt with responses and assured us that a handyman would be coming out the next week. He generously compensated us for our trouble.
We had a very nice relaxing week with good friends.
