We needed extra room at Christmastime for our sweet family. This house worked great because it’s less than a mile away from where we live. Our other children & grandchildren got to enjoy the wonderful game room one evening. It’s perfect!

Room for All
We stayed here during ISU Family Weekend. Good proximity to Normal. It does sit at a 4 way stop, so there is some traffic noise. Some of our friends tagged along and there was plenty of room for everyone. Will stay again.

Fairbury Speedway Getaway
We went to PDC 2024 at nearby speedway and the schoolhouse was very quaint and relaxing little place to stay. Might want to add some dish clothes, instead of just towels. Thank you for everything it was a very nice getaway and saw several deer in the area.

Gorgeous Old Schoolhouse
I surprised my Husband, dog, and friend with a stay here. We were traveling and I was looking for something unique - and this house was PERFECT! Everyone was very impressed 🙂 The house was equipped with anything you could need and was super cozy. We only stayed one night, but I plan on booking here again next time we travel through the area.

Road Trip Pit Stop
Such a fun & unique place to stay. We loved the game room & hot tub...but really we loved it all. I only wish we had more time to enjoy it. Would have loved a walk down to lake or a book in the yard. Thank you!

Adorable with comfort and class
Rented the cabin for the weekend. The family and I stayed Friday and some girlfriends and I had a great time Saturday. The space is so well done and offers so much comfort. The fully stocked kitchen, the game room and the hot tub …everything you need for a great weekend. We will definitely be returning to enjoy the Schoolhouse again soon.

Wonderful place to stay for a respite
We enjoyed the diverse amenities of this charming converted schoolhouse. We love to cook our own when we are on vacation and appreciated a nice kitchen, fully stocked with cookware, accessories, dinnerware, and even bar ware! The game room was amazing and even for us older adults, we had fun playing ping pong, doing jigsaw puzzles, and playing Trivial Pursuit. There was an amazing variety for all ages. Last but not least, we soaked in the hot tub, and even used the outdoor grill as the temps were on our side in the high 50s in February! This was a perfect place for a family retreat.

Sweet 16 Birthday Bash
A great place for a weekend away that’s not too far from home! My daughter and friends enjoyed every area of the rental. The hot tub was relaxing for mom while the girls were busy playing games!

Sister's trip
My 5 sisters and I, 60 and over, really enjoyed staying at the cabin, loved the unique decor and the coziness and it was clean. The kitchen was large enough and was well stocked, liked that the water was drinkable. We had planned on going to Pontiac for part of one day but had enough to do there that we didn't want to leave so we didn't! The game room was great, with plenty of games and puzzles that we used and most of us used the hot tub at least once, very relaxing. Had a fire in the firepit, using the supplied wood, and enjoyed laying on the outdoor daybed. Took a walk down to the lake, very pretty, and we spent a lot of time on the patio, hanging out and playing games. The multiple steps inside were challenging but we managed and all in all we enjoyed our stay and would come back again if in the area.

We had a wonderful stay. Clean home. So charming. So quiet. Comfortable beds. Great lighting and block out curtains. We took advantage of the hot tub and the firepit. 10 minute drive to ISU. Definitely would recommend.

Cozy cottage
The Schoolhouse is so beautiful, clean and cozy. We enjoyed each room and discovering all the thoughtful decor. We used the fire pit one night and loved the bike riders light parade. The area is quiet but not too far out. We enjoyed the Destihl beer hall. Would definitely stay again.

Cozy and clean
The interior shows all the love and caring the owners have for this property. The history of being a schoolhouse is very visible in every single detail. It is absolutely clean and the owners provide nearly everything…even wood for the fireplaces and repellant sprays. These are necessary for the exterior. The setting is pure nature and that is fabulous…unless you are spider-phobic(like me), than entering the building can be challenging. Nevertheless we felt really comfortable and would definitely return if we are in the area abain.
