The property is conveniently located near transport and dining options and offers reasonable pricing. However, it is part of a stacked duplex, meaning your experience may depend on the neighbors. Unfortunately, during our stay, the adjoining unit was occupied by individuals who played loud music and movies at all hours, and the soundproofing was inadequate. While the property manager was helpful and responsive, noise disruptions affected our ability to get a good night’s sleep.

Best host a person could ask for!
If you want more of a homey feel, I would definitely recommend this place! It was a 5 min walk to the train station and a 2 min walk to a convenience store. We stayed on the second floor of the apartment so you do have to be mind full. 1 room had a bed and the other room has a couch/bed and a futon. 3 heaters so you won’t feel cold if you go during the winter. The host themselves are WONDERFUL!! They always checked up on us and even gave us recommendations to food around the area and Tokyo. He was so thoughtful that he gave us a step by step guide to get to their home using the train lines from Narita airport (with pictures/videos!). They tried their very best to try to make sure we felt comfortable in Japan. Over all, me and my partner enjoyed this place! Thank you again to the host!

Lovely stay
Very quiet neighbourhood with easy access to trains and supermarkets. We stayed with our teenagers and had everything we needed. Host gave great instructions on how to find the house and English was great. Thank you Kevin!

really good!
location is really nice, very quiet neighborhood, away from the busy streets of Tokyo. Kevin was very helpful and it was such a cozy home. Location is also good, 2 stops from Ikebukuro, and the house itself is around 5 minute walk from the station. There are many konbini around too. Really enjoyed our stay! Arigato gozaimasu, Kevin-san!

Japanese immersion!
This apartment is in a quiet Japanese neighborhood, but close enough to transit and restaurants and shops. If you want a real experience of living in Japan, we recommend Kevin’s place. He is a very responsive host. The toiletries were plentiful. A nice refrigerator and microwave. You can pick up lots of food at Tokyu Market if you are tired of eating out. Comfortable set up with separate areas for toilet, shower and bathtub, and small sink. Washing machine works well and you hang your clothing outside under the overhang. The only caveat is the stairs up are steep, and watch out for the bicycles, which are everywhere.

Perfect Stay
This 2 bedroom apartment was perfect for our 10 day stay with 2 young adult children! First, this neighborhood is amazing ... a quiet neighborhood SO close to the big city sites of Tokyo. All you need in a 2-5 min walk: Incredible local restaurants, cafes and shops (follow host's recommendations). Super helpful host. Very comfortable apartment. Great location. Highly recommend!

Great location, excellent host
This property was perfect for us (2 adults and 1 teenager). It would have worked well for 4 people, too. The location was easy to get to on public transportation, but in a quiet neighborhood (a nice contrast from some other locations in Tokyo). The host was very helpful and provided a lot of information before we arrived, both about traveling in Japan in general as well as recommendations for local restaurants. We were very pleased with our stay and would stay there again.

Clean and spacious
Kelvin was a very good host, I was having trouble signing in on VRBO app. We were able to connect in What app which solve my worries. Kelvin Apt is as described bright and airy. It is spacious for Japanese standard. Although we did not cook at all it would be nice to update the cooking facility for people who want to cook a simple meal. The location is good, only ten minutes to the train station through a pleasant path in a quiet local Japanese neighbourhood. There is a 7-11 convenience store down the street, a few small restaurants, a flower shop, a small fish market and a supermarket. Two stops from the train station will bring you to Ikebukuro where you have many choice of restaurants and department stores. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Cozy and a good Home Base
The place was a great set of houses to stay at for our duration. Despite our large group size it didn't detract from how well it helped. During the day we would go out to explore and it was nice to know we had this comfortable abode to return to.

Wonderful house just outside Tokyo
Kevin was a wonderful host and his house was perfect for our family of 4. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby for dining and shopping. I would recommend this spot to anyone.

Short Tokyo Stay
Kevin's property was perfect for my friends and I, as well as their 2 year old child. He regularly communicated with me to make sure everything was ok. Location was very good, only a 5 minute walk from one station, and a 15 minute walk from another station. Has everything you need in the area including several restaurants, a grocery store, and konbini. If you want a quiet neighborhood that is still located in tokyo, this is the perfect spot. Would definitely book again!

Quiet, but close to everything. Great apartment!
We (2 adults and a 3-year-old) loved our stay here. The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood but is a few minutes' walk from a train station where you can get to Ikebukuro in 10 minutes for ¥150. It was the perfect place to relax after spending the day exploring Tokyo, and there's plenty of restaurants plus two good supermarkets right in the neighborhood. (protip: Seiyu has better prepared food) The apartment itself was quite nice and very functional. It was great to have a small kitchen and a washing machine. We will definitely try to stay here again next time we're in Tokyo.

Convenient & Quiet
This apartment was perfect for what we needed. We arrived with our 1 year old daughter and needed an apartment with 2 separate bedrooms. Turns out that was much harder to find in Tokyo city but we lucked out and found this gem just outside Tokyo. The manager was also incredibly helpful. Before leaving the states for our trip, he sent us information about restaurants and public transportation in Tokyo. Getting into the city was a breeze—and that’s really saying something when traveling with a young child and a stroller. It was great to come back after a long day in the city to a quiet sleepy neighborhood. 10/10 recommend staying at this apartment!

Excellent location
The location of the apartment couldn’t be better. Right on the Ikebukuro line, with access to major lines only a few minutes away. My only criticism is the bathroom could have been a little cleaner. Great communication from the host, Kevin. For the price, this place is a winner!

Perfect location and excellent apartment
The owner was very very helpful and responded quickly to our questions. 3 mins by foot from Higashi Nagasaki station, 1 minute from the 7-11 and Aeon grocery store. Just 2 stops to Ikebukuro station. Immaculately clean! Nice kitchen, nice bedroom, the teenagers slept in the tatami room on futons. Nice AIR CON - helpful instructions . The clothes washer came in handy, and our clothes dried overnight. As noted - it is second story and a climb up stairs is required.

Living as a local
We were looking for a quiet neighborhood to spend a week living like a local rather than in a hotel on a month-long trip to Japan, and this filled the bill. Very quiet area but only two stops to the amenities of Ikebukuro. We could open windows to fresh air, enjoy both tatami and western bedroom, prepare our own meals, and have much more space than in hotel, though space in the bath/vanity/laundry area is a bit tight. Furnishings are basic, and guests are expected to observe local rules, such as sorting trash and putting it out on the designated day. Owner provides good info and is responsive.

Lovely Home in Convenient Neighbourhood
My parents and I had a great stay at Kevin's apartment. The apartment was very clean and well stocked with all the necessities for our stay. It's a close walk to the train station and a quick/easy ride in to Ikebukero. It was my parent's first time in Tokyo and they have a very easy time navigating the area. Kevin was a fantastic host - he was very responsive and ensured our stay was a comfortable one. Would definitely recommend this VRBO to anyone coming to Tokyo!
